Gloss in ProChannel EQ

Gloss just seems to be an Off/On switch with no adjustable parameters. It appears to be a fixed high-end EQ boost. I am having trouble hearing its effect on vocal tracks. Does anyone have any details about what it does, and can you hear a difference when using it? Do you use it, and,if so, what for? Thanks.

I seem to recall in the Anderton vids he uses it for something or other and it being rather dramatic. I forget though. It probably has more of an effect depending on the track and how you have other stuff set in PC.

I can hear a difference when using it. I liked it on bass and kick drum, but as for a final touch on a mix, or on anything above a bass or kick, I didn't care for it.

The difference is very noticeable.  Maybe you have your eq module turned off?  I don't know if it would work in that situation.
If you don't hear the difference, I'd say something is not right.
I remember that my prochannel would sometimes not work unless i closed and reopened a project (prior to current version)

Thanks, all.  The graphic is very interesting.  There appears to be a very subtle increase above 1K.  Given the vague description in help, I was expecting this to begin at a higher frequency.  I will experiement a bit more.

In answer to the question about having EQ turned off, it is always good to remind each other of simple things we may have overlooked, but that is not the problem in this case: the EQ is active with a HPF (low cut) set at ~160.

Are you sure you can hear the effects of the HPF? Reason I ask is, there is a problem with the Pro Channel appearing to work, but not actually doing anything on some systems. I can usually get it to snap out of that state by enabling and disabling the Sat module. The original, not the Softube add-on.

I agree with BlixYZ, you should be able to clearly hear the effects of the Gloss function. If you can't, then the Pro Channel is frozen and not doing anything, you have an LPF set up somewhere after the Gloss EQ, you're monitors, or your ears.
