Gobbler seems interesting..
Not much posting on this tool.. Seems great for collaborating.. Will there be a Cakewalk Gobbler collaboration forum? Or, how about a project/contest to highlight such a great integrated tool in X3?

It really is a cool feature. We are posting a new blog article up tomorrow. We are also talking about some kind of contest. Maybe a Gobbler Collaboration forum would be cool.

Well it's integrated right into SONAR X3. You just sign up for an account and you're all set with 5GB of content. Then you can send files to other SONAR users or backup to the could (with versioning). You should try it out! I'll share the blog tomorrow.

I've been using Gobbler since pretty much the first day it was available for Windows... and I am a big fan, and obviously thrilled that it is now integrated into Sonar. The integration has been working flawlessly for me thus far... as far as it goes. So if I might ask (and I'll be asking the Gobblers too) - any chance we could get access to versions within the Sonar/Gobbler environment?
I'm glad I can setup backups within Sonar, and file/project transfers will be a great boon, but it seems odd that we can't see version history, and better yet access older versions from within Sonar. Or am I missing something?

I can see how this will benefit me greatly when I'm working on my other rig without having to save it all onto a USB stick and then copying it all across. Great idea which leads to a smoother workflow

There's a video on the Cake TV site. I'm sure you can access it all from within Sonar. Have a look. I've not got that far yet, still working on all the other new stuff in X3..

It appears as a module in the Control Bar, but I've not had chance to look at it yet.

Thanks, I watched that but it's really an overview video not a how to. I did the 'click on it' part from within sonar which took me to a web page where I signed up and got my free 20gb etc but I've no idea how to get the rest of it to work. I'm just assuming I need to download the app so I can tell it what drives to scan etc. then again I don't want to do that if I'm missing something within the sonar integration so I'm hoping someone that's done it will chime in. I'm having a thick day. The older I get, the more I have them. :-/

Not for me, I would like to see better file system management, ie ability to rename projects and quick and easy version control/rollback of projects... Yes I'm well aware of the workarounds but this should be seemless and made as simple as possible.

Hey guys, here is a note about setting up Gobbler in case you some stuff isn't making sense: Go to Gobbler’s website and make an account. Make sure to use the code that was given to you when you purchased SONAR X3. This will give you the free space on their servers. https://www.gobbler.com/ Download the Gobbler app from here: https://www.gobbler.com/download Once downloaded, install Gobbler Open up the Gobbler app and sign into your account that you created Once this is done simply open up SONAR X3, SONAR X3 Studio, or SONAR X3 Producer and click on the “G” on the Gobbler module in the control bar to turn on the Gobbler ***If you do not see the Gobbler module then you may have to rearrange your Control Bar. You can do this by right-clicking on the it and unticking some modules that you don’t use. Gobbler will probably say (Offscreen). Hope this helps!-DG

Just a quick note, if you use Gobbler keep an eye on the RAM it's using. I was liking it quite a bit until I noticed that it was eating up 1.2 gigs (!) of RAM (yep, even after rebooting and whatnot). It's currently disabled on my system. I'll probably give it another try if an update comes out, but for right now that seems like it's a bit excessive. Dean

I opened up a project and clicked the share project button. .cwp file with the option of sending the project folder and or audio files. To razorwits point. Turning it off until needed is probably a good idea.

I really need to read up on Gobbler because I just have no idea how it's supposed to work lol....like, no matter whether I have Gobbler turned on or off in a project (via the switch in the control bar), it still seems to back everything up regardless. So I'm not sure what the control bar module is actually for, given that I already have the Gobbler app set up to watch my whole project folder anyway. And I keep getting balloons saying that Gobbler is backing up "untitled.cwp," when I don't have any untitled cwp's anywhere. RTFM I guess

OK, I just installed it and have been playing with it. What I would like to do is save my project at home to Gobbler and then go across town to my studio and open up Sonar and continue working on my project there. Would be very convenient. I was hoping that I could open up my project inside of Sonar from the Gobbler button or something like that. But it seems like I have to open up gobbler from outside of Sonar, download the file, then open it up. Seems like the same amount of work that I currently do using Skydrive. Can it be easier than this?
