God rest ye merry gentlemen *updated 22-12*

My contribution to the Christmas celebrations - God rest ye merry gentlemen. This is an old arrangement, originally for piano and 3-parts violin. Now more orchestrated:

The piano is from Ivory II. Bought it a few weeks ago and like it a lot. All orchestra sounds are from EWHO platinum.

I couldn't do real violin overdub this time, because of our 6-week-old daughter. A new experience with less SONAR, but I like it so far!

Edit: Did an update of the song after Dan's suggestion. I took off 3dB at the top (around 7000 Hz) when strings enter, and automate it up to normal level. Subtle but smoother now? Here's the updated version:

Very nice Lasse! I do think initially that the strings might be too bright in relation to the piano. Maybe a subtle smoothing EQ that you can automate out over time? Just a thought...

Thanks, Dan. I'm glad you brought that up! My tin cup ears could hear that the strings didn't fit in after the piano solo. My solution was to soften the first string notes, but obviously that didn't solve it.

I will try later to do an update with EQ-automation. Hopefully before Christmas.

This sounds quite nice here, I think the suggestion by Dan will just add the final gloss.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I also evened out some accents that was bothering. EWH Strings sounds grate but is really wierd with velocity sometimes.

I know it's well past Christmas, but that was a very nice rendition - the orchestration was well done IMO.
