Good plug-in for monitering overall volume?

Im sure as most of you already know, sometimes the overall level is nowhere near red despite the peak levels almost clipping. Therefore, increasing overall level can drasticly help in geting a more full (Percievingly louder) or commercail style mix. That said, anyone know of a good FREE overall level monitering plug-in?

P.S... I Ordered SHS7 from Sweetwater 2day (FINALLY!) i can't wait to get it in the mail. I feel much better after reading that they plan to come out with a multiple-outputs patch at the end of this month. Koodus to cakewalk for addressing the issue.

Most people just use RMS metering for this. I like Voxengo SPAN (it's free). RMS metering correlates better to perceived loudness than peak metering, but it's not an exact indication of volume. Some plugins try to improve the correlation by adding in frequency weighting and/or using Fletcher-Munson curve data, but the results may or may not be any better than simply using RMS levels.

You can use me as your eSoundz referral (altima_boy_2001).

You'll have to give it some time while playing to calculate the average RMS since it's based on the time average. Span also has k-metering (although k-sytem is really a total setup in your studio) wich is really nice to have. Check out more about the k-system at www.digido.com/

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.
