Got a problem with TTS-1

It loads & plays fine in a blank project

When inserting into any other project it won't play and after clicking the preview buttons it eventually crashes Sonar.

Also, once inserted into such a project, even deleting it crashes Sonar.

TTS never finds it's way into final versions of projects, but it's a quick & easy way to get ideas down, but not when it behaves like this!

Oh yes, more often than not, after a couple of clicks the meter pins & the audio engine stops. Restarting it has no effect

Thanks

Is it a problem with the existing project's sample rate? If so, there is a fix.

Yeah - I was secretly hoping it was a sample rate thing too.  I have to run to the store for coffee creamer, but I'll play around with TTS-1 for a bit when I get back, and see if it is showing any abnormality for me.

Should be back from store in about a half hour, so I will try to post back here in around an hour.

I've been using TTS-1 as a quick "idea pad" since Roland stopped supporting the VSC. All is well here at the moment with Foxboro Update 1 on projects at 44.1kHz.

Not sure if this help, for a long time I didn't use TTS-1, but once I ran in to similar issue and I have to run Sonar with admin and it works.

I had that happen for maybe a week on a variety of projects (nothing predictable), so I stopped using the TTS-1 for a while. Then one day I inserted it without thinking, and it worked. Hmm. So I kept trying it, and it's worked fine ever since. I have no idea what caused it to stop working properly, or start working properly again.

Just out of curiosity, are these X3e projects? If so, you might try loading the project, deleting the TTS-1, saving the project, then loading it again and inserting the TTS-1.

Interestingly, this is happening on both computers that I use, which are totally different in terms of hardware & configuration, so I don't think it's system related

Two separate machines throws a wrench into the mix. Have you tried downloading a new SONAR update (i.e. deleting/moving the previous one) and simply reinstalling it? I know the CCC validates files now, but stranger things have happened.

Another thing that comes to mind is checking for a DirectX update (Start->dxdiag.exe will show you what version is running on your machine). I have version 11 loaded on this machine.

It works as expected in all pre-splat versions in blank projects but not in a loaded one.

    This is interesting.

I saved a template with just TTS-1 in it as a template.
Then in Splat I copy/dragged the template into an existing project.

Opening the gui reveals not the TTS-1 but Rapture..........

Sounds like something has gotten totally corupted there for sure??
I have probably used tts-1 in every project I have ever mucked with since 2004. I use the Kick drum on 90% of my stuff and I still like some of the organs better than Dim Pro.
If anything always work for me it is good ol' TTs-1.
And I can insert it at any point in any project at any settings.
But then I'm still on Profesional. Still haven't been able to download my shiny new Platinum I paid for.

Tonight I'm going to do it the other way round - import an existing project into my TTS1 template, see what happens and report back.

But this is a bloody nuisance. I can't think what on earth could be causing these problems

offhand no, sorry, but a quick google turns it up :

Follow these steps to register (DirectX) DLLs (or OCX's):
    * On the Taskbar, select Start > Run.
    * In the Open field, type regsvr32 "<path>\NameOfFile.extension", where <path> is the directory where the file is located on your computer and NameOfFile.extension is the name of the file.
    For example: regsvr32 "C:\Windows\System32\ReverbDirectX.dll"
    * Press Enter.
