Hi,
The first two from a pair of pieces from Amon Duul 2's Wolf City album, and the last one from the album "Vive La Trance" ... in one of the best songs ever written, about the hippy days gone away ... and forgotten, called "Apocaliptyc Bore", complete with references to acid and Star Wars! But the best lyric still is from Amon Duul 2 and is says that Mona Lisa is a bird brain on Dance of the Lemmings somewhere!
The hard part of these pieces, is that the lyrics are more literature than anything else, as its references are immense and endless.
(Surrounded by the Stars)
You walk
Surrounded by the stars
For many days
And you knock
At the gates of night
No answer
But you walk in
With your decrees
And you go out
With shaking knees
A street-sweeper appears
Makes your dusty feet clean
Come and jump
On my Are-You-Tired machine
At sunrise
You play your violin
On Napoleon's nose
A cop comes and says
You're one of those
But you jump
Into the trumpet of a clown
And you say to yourself
Maybe I should leave this town?
You walk
Beside the twilight street
Jewel of the town
And you pass
The make-up zoo
Where hungry people meet
They ask you
And you give them
All you need
For a trip to the South
Maybe you think
What sort of idiot am I
Without a bone in my mouth
And you turn to the sunrise
You see a famous face
Behind a golden fence
A voice sounds round the corner:
"This is your very last chance!"
But you laugh
Like the son of a kangaroo
I don't believe the TV screen!
I don't believe you too!
...
And right behind the ending of this song, it ends with a saw cutting wood, and it has a bass link to the next piece that is amazing, and one of the prettiest transitions I have ever heard into this next song: (Green Bubble Raincoated Man)
Sometimes I'm missing a word from my friends
Why can't we share the problems hand in hand?
And when I ask my mirror what is the truth?
All the funny things you do!
Look into my eyes
Do you really mean it?
'Cause this is no question
You have to face the facts in time and
Don't forget you're high
Wouldn't you rather check what's your confession?
Green bubbles came out of the crystal thing
A sudden cry of an old rain-coated guy
And softly grey gnomes were whispering to my ear:
All the funny things you do!
Look into my eyes
Do you really mean it?
'Cause this is no question
You have to face the facts in time and
Don't forget you're high
Wouldn't you rather check what's your confession?
Just an advice: Don't ask your face tonight
Don't tell the words you like so much
Don't tell, just act in spite
Don't try to prove your own brain's might
Don't lose the sun, 'cause you need fun
Two races keep me in action
Don't bother about my reaction
I had to learn a lot from my master
All I say is try to get to the green bubble raincoated man
Green bubble raincoated man
Don't stay in the rain again
Drink this poisoned cup of tea
Wait and wonder what you'll see
Gimme back my crystal mirror
And you gonna be a hero
Green bubble raincoated man
Don't stay in the rain
===================
(Apocaliptyc Bore)
One day, when suddenly by fortune
We saw the U.F.O.'s fly
They brought us the so-called paradise
They were spooking from the sky
Desert became a blooming garden
Like a dainty recreation field
Everybody's keenest dreams came true
Even gigantomaniacs were thrilled
Frogmen lifted treasures
Everybody got their parts
It was a worldwide pleasure
We all landed in the charts
No horse that didn't win the race
They found their destination
As if they were shot through the space
It was a big sensation...
(break and solo)
My neighbour lived in the middle ages
His castle was cheaply rented
Everybody now could explore the past
'Cause the time-continuum-robot was invented
And then the skywriters signalized
Their majesties the extraterrestians
And when they came down in sparkling haze
We called them the space-pedestrians
There seemed to be happiness for eternity
Mankind scored more and more
Until one day the young growing up generation
Called this age an apocalyptic bore
There was nothing to fight for – no love no hate –
Only a quivering in the air
Kids had taken all their skybikes
And were leaving for the Big Bear
Dark shadows burst through the universe
Mother earth was really shocked
All hopes all dreams had disappeared
All ways, all minds were locked
The flood came ....
(break and dueling solo violin and guitar to the end)
There was a similar song in concept and pattern, written by Scorpions, on their 2nd album and it is the title cut to "Fly To The Rainbow" ... which is a sort of let's party song ... and that's that! Playing these two back to back is likely to get your ears busted up ... but you have to do it LOUD ... because the solos are impressive and totally well setup in both pieces!
