Gratuitous and Self-Serving Post about...
I've been using Gobbler's backup service pretty much since the day it was released for Windows.
I can't remember if it has been discussed here before or not, but support for Sonar as a project format is now well established, so I thought I'd mention it (again).
And the self-serving part - if you use this link (
https://www.gobbler.com/i/YsoSXX) to sign up you and I both get some extra free space, and everyone likes free!
Below is a mini review, I've published a more detailed review
HERE.
Gobbler provides three different solutions for musicians - backups, transfers, and management - all of which are designed to work at both the project and file levels.
Backups - it just works. It can run, safely, in the background, and backup multiple revisions of a project and all of it's related files. It understands the Sonar project structure. Did I mention that it works?
Transfers - again, it just works. You can send a file to another Gobbler user, and if it's backed up the transfer happens almost instantly, since the cloud already knows where it is stored.
Management - This set of features is not quite as mature as the others, or perhaps I'm just more demanding that the standard issue user... but it is usable, and it is moving towards robust.
No mini-review would be complete without a comment on the company... so far I am thoroughly impressed with the folks at Gobbler. Start with the fact that they added support for Sonar very shortly after introducing support for Windows - because people asked for it, and I think you get the picture.
Oh, and did I mention they now have a mobile app?
