Great Kontakt Add-On for easily switching patches...

If you use Kontakt 4 and would love to be able to easily switch instrument patches (say different articulations of a Bass) using the method of your choice and without having to send Midi program changes then get thee hither to www.orangetreesamples.com and pickup "Mind Control" for only $15 (through the end of the month).  It's a dandy little Kontakt addon that lets you do just that.  Tres cool.

    Greg's already produced a feature update for this terrific add-on.  You've now got even more choices of how to alternate between patches/articulations.  It's an absolute steal.

    Would this be of benefit to those of us who got the Drum Masters Group buys that run in Kontact 4 or is this more for midi sends?

    If any of the new Drum Kits in the group buy have different articulations, say a sidestick instrument AND a separate snare instrument for example, you would load both of them into a slot in the Mind Control addon menu.  Then, from the pull down menu, you can choose whatever condition you like, say moving the mod wheel, to change from one instrument to the other as you play in real time.  And that's just one of the things it'll do.  Check out the video link above in Strike's post.

    Thanks so much for mentioning Mind Control!

    With drum libraries, you could easily create your own keyswitches (or controller numbers) to change between sticks and brushes or mallets. You could also combine kits, taking the snare from one patch and moving it to a different patch, all non-destructively using Mind Control.
