Grinding teeth..

..and the beat goes on in the "Golden Years". Yesterday the dentist told me it is time to fix my front teeth that I have ground down over the years. 12 crowns. Six on the top, six on the bottom. If I don't do it there will come a time when not enough tooth is left to do a crown and I'll have partials... May 4. I'm glad to get them fixed. They don't look bad, well dentin showing on the bottom and on the back of the top teeth, no discomfort at all. I can bite and chew ice cream, no problem.
My only concern is that they sort of eased into telling me that they would have to give me a shot in the roof of my mouth... I'm getting GAS!! (No bloating, just gas).
I saw a friend yesterday as I was limping around the grocery store. He is a few years older than me. He told me he recently slipped and fell down the stairs into his basement. Luckily he didn't break anything, just a bunch of bruises and sore. Should I feel guilty that it made me feel better?
It's always something but I guess something is better than nothing.  Time does fly by.

It's all good!

I couldn't afford a repair like that. Kind of scary to think about. My teeth are quite worn because I'm a chronic grinder and I couldn't afford the estimate, let alone the actual crowns.

The joys of the golden years. We begin to fall apart so that we have doctor appointments to occupy all of our free time.

Bites hard! My dental insurance is nada, I married "up". I'll make payments, plus I got a senior discount! It really is one thing after another.

I'd get a second opinion. Do some research before committing to all that money and suffering. I assume you're in the US, where no dental insurance plan is going to cover most of that procedure.

I wear a bite plane at night. Really hard to get used to, but it limits the damage from grinding.

I would but the damage is done, I've known it was coming for a while. I should have worn one and I probably should exercise but... se la vie.

Hi,

Been lucky ... same dentist for 35 years and all's good ... I don't get my teeth cleaned every 6 months like they want to ... once a year is enough for me to deal with, but in general, all's good and my teeth are still fine, though I do need one crown done.

I might actually die with all my teeth in? Goodness ... aren't we lucky!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Holy Moly Jbow, ol pal! You might as well buy an Audi TT! But then you'd have to just eat malt-o-meal for the rest of your life. Although I suppose you could get used to it. Those TTs are fast!

LOL... I'm still getting the GTi SE with the Performance package, lighting package, and DCC package. Only problem it is hard to find one that isn't black. I don't want a car I have to wash every week... maybe a red one! These teeth should last me another 30+ years. I figure I'll get more when I'm 110.
