Groovin' w/ Jimi...

In spirit...

I'm working on a video thingie for something entirely different and I was fooling around w/ the built-in cam on my laptop tonight, messing w/ the SGJ and the POD HD. Since a few folks here mentioned that they'd had enough of seeing my gear w/o hearing it, I captured this little vid of yours truly just strumming away, unaccompanied - a song I really dig playing.

Nothing fancy, no wailing solo - in fact no solo -  and certainly no shredding here, just a groovy little thing.

So basically just the SGJ and a plexi model on the POD, w/ a touch univibe, a tiny bit of delay and a bit of reverb. Nothing customized.

Nah, the camera on the laptop flips everything around - and I just never bothered trying to find the setting I had to tweak.

Thanks, Sharke. I really like that POD HD - it just makes it very easy to get a (imho) usable tone.

Explains the exotic amplifier name in the background too.

I'm sure Jimi would smile at your thumb-wrapping skills and that sure is a nice little axe there!

I just began setting up my gear again yesterday (after FOUR years in storage) and a couple things made me laugh while remembering your comments about keeping the cats out of your studio.  There was this one loveable young stray (the vet guessed about six-seven months old) that tried SOOO hard to get adopted by me and finally was by my next door neighbor.  However she knew she pretty much owned us as well and would come over to spend time with us often.  Now I keep finding foam items like my Auralex pads with kitty gouges scratched out of them. LOL.

Sometimes my studio chair "wasn't available."

So I had to use "expensive" toys as a distraction.

She's so lovely!! Reminds me of the first cat I adopted. :)

About that thumb - I guess my guitar teacher would smile too - and then hit it w/ her ruler, as she used to. She'd probably be happy to know that I finally got it under control and can keep it behind the neck most of the time. But when playing Hendrix tunes, I can't help it. Had been a while though...

Hendrix and those lovely AC/DC tunes that require that thumb (like Highway To Hell).
