Groove 3 has a $10 no brainer on mastering using ST3. I picked that up and I was amazed at how much I did not know about all the different VSTs capabilities. Especially the Opto compressor. Definitly worth the $10!

Although, one project needed to go back to the mixing stage IMO. Great, informative video.

Finally managed to log in and buy the upgrade using FF. I had some troubles there w/ Safari in the past but usually, a few tries and it'd work. Not this time. Anyone else having problems w/ IK's web site?

Haven't had the chance to test it, just installed and authorized it. 

Very cool Rain...please do post once you played with them a bit. (I'm using IE/Google Chrome and haven't had any issues with the IK site).

I think I might like it more than the 2A actually, seeing that it should the basic fundamental qualities but be more tweakable. My guess is that, since it's based on a custom design, it cannot benefit from the same hype as a regular LA-2A clone, but it may very well be superior in a few ways.

Similarly, I find myself using Logic's compressor in Vari-Mu mode all the time, even if I have IK's fairchild model. 

Pulled the trigger on the crossgrade and went for the G3 vid too, though the coupon code didn't work. T3 Deluxe was back ordered at AM so that gonna be a week or more before it arrives here. I'll watch the vid in the meantime. Was thinking of going all-out for the T-Racks book too, but decided to hold off for now. There's supposed to be an informative user manual included with Deluxe. ----------------- Rain, are you referring to the Opto?

I like that one a lot - busses, mixes, vocals, acoustic gtr, bass gtr.

Hi Gtrpima, considering that the Black or White is a bonus if the group-buy reaches 2,000 and we've yet to reach 200, you might want to hold onto those guys for while. Your heart is right place though :-) ------------ EDIT: Correction, the count now stands at 336. We were at 185 yesterday, so who knows? It's possible, i'm certainly rooting for 2000... I bet your friend is too.

Typically, two-thirds to three-fourths of the signups happen in the last week of a group buy. Everybody waits to see if it's gonna fly before committing. So 2,000 is not impossible, despite the slow start.

I was thinking of waiting it out also, but then i figured that at $79 delivered, it's an absolute no-brainer even if the bonus isn't reached. When you consider the Groove3 T-Racks Mastering vid for 10 bucks (normally 40), it starts to get silly. Good stuff, I say. --------- EDIT: The Groove3 coupon code didn't work for me, but I emailed customer service about it, hopefully they'll kick me back $5 towards the new Mixing With X1 video.

Groove3 got back to me and reimbursed me for the $5 and put an additional order thru at 50% off after the deal was expired. Good customer service over there.

Interesting question. I guess I could do the same. 

You have to license transfer them - so it would cost your mate the price of the transfer token. I think I've got 3 of the same plug-in given away as freebies. I may have others doubled up for the same reason. I'd much prefer to move them on.

Just got an email from esoundz.com.  They are having a 20% off everything sale that goes through 2/23.  They have T-Racks Delux listed but they don't list the crossgrade offer, only the basic purchase for $200 ($160 after discount).  Hopefully this is an oversight and they'll get ithe crossgrade deal added.
 
Maybe if a few of us send a query about this, they'll decide to it's worth their while to add this to the list of IK deals they've got on offer.

AudioMidi has a $99 crossgrade from any competing product. I just got the email, but I don't know how long the deal lasts.

IK stuff is included, but not the $99 crossgrade offer.  I e-mailed them to ask if they had overlooked it.  They responded (almost immediately ... nice people) that they are not allowed to offer the crossgrade (they said they even asked but were told no). 
 
If you don't qualify for the crossgrade, then the price is $160, not $200.  If you have no IK products (in other words, if you're one of the two or three computer music enthusiasts in the world who don't ), then esoundz is offering a great price, even if the magic 2000 number isn't reached.

I recently got Nomad Factory's Studio Pack III and was wondering how these plugs compare to IK's T-Racks Deluxe? I understand there's certain characteristics/mojo  each has and depending on the needed application which are unique to each, but do you prefer  one over the other? (for those that have both)

I go to the Black 76 & Magnetic II on almost everything, and I'm really after the White more than the actual T-Racks Deluxe.....just wanted to what your thoughts were on NF's SP III comapred to T-Racks?

I got lucky and bought TRacks through AudioMIDI and between some promo code and their usual low pricing I got it for $79.
But it looks as if I'm going to end up buying both the Black and White for $99 each anyway.

Well, I wouldn't pay to give the doubles, but when someone's ready to absorb that $50 fee, I have no issue giving the plug-in to a buddy here on these boards. It's useless to me anyway, and that still  $49 off the retail price for whoever buys the transfer.


There are probably others I could do w/o, but the transfer fees are prohibitive. Besides, who hasn't got almost all the IK plugs they want by now? ;)

Yep, I see what you mean, if someone is interested in only one plugin. But if they want two (or more) it's doesn't make sense ATM, they could get them all for that price. Also quite often the Singles can be had for $50 or less on special (I picked mine up for $40 each). If they allowed us to apply IK points to the license transfer purchase and cut it down to $25 that would be a sweet price for a Single, but I didn't inquire about that.

You could also get the black 76 or white for 80 bucks straight up from esoundz for 80 bucks this week with the 20 percent sale.  I think I am jumping on Arc for 160.

Yeah mike, I suppose that was my last option.....but, the good thing about buying the White seperately is I could use my jam-points and get it for about $50.

Looks like they upped the deal to a free Black76 or Whitela at 1000 and the other at 2000. So now both new comps if group buy reaches 2000. I've got the White already and love it especially on vocals. I'd like to get the Black76. It just might reach 1000, so I might do it.

I think that's a good move on IK's part and much more realistic goal......incentive-wise also it's a better option for those that just have a few......

Anybody know how to authorize the Singles after installing Deluxe-3? I updated to 3.5 and the Singles are showing up in Sonar, but only as trial versions. They are asking for a serial number and the Deluxe-3 serial number doesn't work.

You mean the Black & White ones? Were they authorized before? If so it's odd that they would be un-authorized in the upgrade process.

Anyway, those 2 in particular require should be authorized separately (I think) since they aren't part of Deluxe. You should have all the necessary info (serial number, # of authorizations left) in your user area on IK's web site. I'd run the authorization manager and see what it suggests - it should detect anything running in demo mode and ask you if you want to authorize. 

Thanks Rain. No, not the Black or White (I don't have those). When you first install Deluxe 3, it is just the full Mastering Suite application. You then must update it to 3.5 in order to access all the modules separately as plugins in the DAW. I did all of that, but the individual modules are only trial versions and need to be authorized with serial numbers. I only have one serial number for Deluxe-3 and that doesn't work. Where do I find the serial number(s) to authorize the individual modules (Singles)?

Nevermind, my mistake. I must have entered the Deluxe-3 serial# incorrectly last night, because it worked a few minutes ago to authorize the modules.

I like IK's new authorization manager. It makes authorizing so much easier.

Rain got it right. Open the Authorization manager, plug in the serials and let it work its magic! So now that we are offering BOTH the Black 76 and White 2A help us spread the word on this amazing deal!

Mesh:  You should definitely have it.  It is my alternative to Ozone for mastering (which I also own).  The IK Deluxe comes with some good global presets that I found helpful to start from and then to tweak.  I particularly like the combination of the Fairchild emulation with their Brickwall limiter.  It is sweet yet clean.  Enjoy it!  I am not doing this sale as I already own Deluxe and most of the IK line, but I am hoping to grab the White and the Black in the future.  It would be nice to see them offered on sale for those of us who already own the rest.

I did upgrade to T-Racks Deluxe recently and I have the Black 76 and the White 2A. My favorites probably are the Black 76, and then the Fairchild 670 and the Pultec. 


IMHO, those 3 alone would be worth $199, admitting that the group buy reaches 1000. Oh, and don't forget the Esoundz deal - you get an extra 20% off, so that makes Deluxe $160.

The White 2A is great too, but with the Red Opto, you get sort of a best-of-both world thing - it's an opto but w/ more. I didn't have much time to play w/ the others.  I don't entertain any idea of mastering my own stuff, but they're still useful in a mix.

Thanks Cecelius, I'm definitely getting on this deal. I also have the Fairchild 670, but I seem to always end up using the Black 76..... it just seems to put a lot more life into any track. I'll check out their brick wall limiter with the 670 and also see what other tips I can get from the video.

If you have any jam points left, you can use them to get the Black or White......this way you can even get up to 50% off the $99 price tag (of course you'll need to have 50 jam points).

The freebie is still not available in the user-area at the IK account. According to the IK forum, there some kind of a problem with the system over there.

In order to transfer an IK Multimedia software license to another person, the current rights owner must purchase a "License Transfer Credit" in the IK Multimedia's online store. After having obtained the "License Transfer Credit", please go to the User Area and click on the green License transfer icon.

The license transfer fee is $49.99/€39.99/£31.50 ex VAT per license. Only OEM and bundle versions can be transferred free of charge and without a "License Transfer Credit". After the license transfer has been completed, the previous rights owner is not allowed to retain any copy of the media.

Hasn't shown up for me yet - hope it does soon...

Mine is there now I'm not sure which one I want. Decisions, decisions. Of course, I like these kind of issues.
