Gtrack start up...
I'm having problems getting started with the Samson Gtrack, I'm hoping someone here can help. I'm on a Windows 7 64bit system. I'm trying to record keyboard and vocal so that I can control their volumes individually. I'm coming out of my keyboard with the stereo 1/4" jacks into the 1/8" instrument input on the Gtrack... I have the INSTR/MIC input setting selected and the stereo direct monitor selected... I'm using headphones plugged into the Gtrack (with another pair plugged into the keyboard to defeat the onboard speakers)... in SONAR LE I'm trying to set up the tracks, all the guides I can find say to set up MONO tracks, but I don't find that option. The options I have are Left, Right and Stereo USB Audio Codec - and Left, Right and Stereo Realtek high def. I've been choosing Stereo USB Audio Codec. On the Gtrack I'm trying to set my levels, I definitely get signal from my keyboard to the mic/mixer, with the volume at nearly full I can get the peak indicator to light up, then of course I back it off... then I do the same for the mic volume. I hear the keyboard in the headset (thought I don't really get a great headset mix)... the rub is, I'm not getting the keyboard onto the track. Through one of the hundreds of permutations I've tried I have been able to record the keyboard, but even then, with the volume up nearly full and just touching the peak on the mic/mixer, my volume in SONAR LE is relatively low, especially as compared to the vocal input (and at the Gtrack I have the mic level at a very low setting). Can anyone see where I've gone wrong? I've updated all the drivers I can think of (Gtrack mainly) and the demos in SONAR LE playback fine, and my vocals are fine.
