Kenny, That was just awesome and a great sound coming out of that Les Paul. Fantastic finger work. You should have won something just for the length of working those fingers so hard. Great playing and a nice sound. Enjoyed the video as well.

I hear you Robby, I was having problems getting it to play on Safari earlier today ...everything is worked out as far as I can tell ..+ it's on u tube.

Yes it is true , the guitar probably could come up little , I left it a little low volume wise on purpose ..
I wanted my guitar to float over & not dominate the track ...

thank you for taking the time to listen

    :-)

    Sounds great Kenny.

I've spent the past week playing along to Hal Leonard Jazz Master CDs and I was thinking of how much I could use a teacher like you to point me in the direction to more sophisticated understanding and playing.

It is a real pleasure to see you rocking it out today.

    Thanks for sharing!

Great tone! I notice you starting out on the Rhythm pickup, switching to both, then switching to Treble. There's nothing like a Gibson Les Paul lead pickup for soaring out over the rest of the band, and it works here.

How do you like the blend early on? I love the dense sound of a Gibson Rhythm pickup for lead guitar, but I have to admit the historic tracks I listen to for that sound are often 3-piece, or otherwise lack competition in those frequency bands. I did appreciate the difference when you got to Treble pickup about halfway through.

    Hi Mike ,

that is good that you are playing along w material that is challenging . It is always a good move to stay teachable .

In my case , it has been a while since I wore the music teachers hat ....

it seems , the more I play ..the less I really know .

a much better guitar player than me once said " practice what you must , play what you love.."

I'm real happy you dug my playing on the clip .

First of all, I want your LP.
Secondly, way too long for only two chords. One minute would have been perfect but I know that's not your fault.
Thirdly, some mighty fine pickin there.

    Hey, Kenny,

Good to see you around, buddy!

FANTASTIC job on the video!!!  Killer playing, as always, and that LP sure sounds sweet!

    Absolutely dynamite job, brother!
    Bob

    Hi Bob ,

thank you for being glad that I'm back here on the forum ....

it's not every day I get to play over an actual Joe Bonamassa recording that has had the vocals and lead guitar parts removed .

It was my goal to bring as much fun and "A Game"  as I could w my guitar playing ...  it is what it is  for a one take performance w out overdubs

Secretly , I hope Joe gets to hear it one day ...and , if he gets to ...dare I say , I hope he digs ...Yeah i can admit that  I wish ...

I'm real pleased you enjoyed my guitar playing on this clip

    Kenny

    Hi Scotty,

So, You want my Les Paul .... huh?....
My beloved R 8 was given to me as a gift......

as you mentioned  , a fella has to play by the rules .... I agree , one minute would have been sweet .

I sure had fun playing my guitar on this song . Who knows it might lead to something even if it don't involve the contest

I'm  real happy you dug my picking ....

I'm just going to come out and say it.  I LOVE YOU!  Well, your chops at least.  Smokin'!!!  I like the way you kept the licks fresh and changed the pickups off and on.  My only crit is not the music, but a few smiles in the camera with eyes open would add some stage charm.  But, that was a pile of good riffs, and some fancy moves.  Eye contact!!  Great tone too, what amp???

    Hi Daryl ,

after watching this clip , we all found out that now I will need to start considering taking acting lessons

    thankfully,
my eyes were closed , so my nose didn't act like a Police helicopter spotting a car during a high speed pursuit on the guitars fret board

Daryl , I'm just funning around

it's all cool ...I have respect for your honesty ... I'm very happy you dug my guitar playing & tone

my amp / signal tone has been officially named "Kenny's Imaginary Dumble "   for a good reason and that's all I'm gonna say on that topic for now

After years of working with promoters... I can't stop thinking about the stage presence thing.  So many rock people today have absolutely zero.  You were fine, just could have used a little eye contact.  But you always look cool... and play hot!
