Guitar Rig 3 Install

I am reinstalling Producer 8.5 onto a new Windows 7 PC. All is well and all works fine. The only issue is Guitar Rig does not show up in Sonar. I have the stand alone on my desktop. It says it is registered and activated. I have the latest Service Center etc...It just is not available in Sonar...I don't know what is missing. It installed no problem on the old PC, but just won't show up now...HELP

    sure.

    OPTIONS>GLOBAL>VST PLUGINS
    hit the SCAN VSTs button.

I think the guitar rig folder should be there already, but if it's not, find the guitar rig's installation folder (where the dll file is) and add it to the scan list before scanning.

I actually did do that...sorry, I'm at work and trying to remember what I have done...I did relocate the Guitar Rig folder, and then scanned...but it still does not show up...I suppose I could run the disc again, but I am just in a loop at this point...everything else loaded and works like a charm

is this 32 or 64bit?  I don't remember if GR3 works on 64bit or not.  but if it does, you will need to make sure you've downloaded the latest updates from NI Service Center and make sure you run them and choose 64bit installation if you're on 64bit and if it offers it.

for some reason, and I hope someone will confirm or correct this, I'm thinking that GR3 doesn't work on 64bit and that you have to upgrade to GR4 for that.  but I could be wrong.  I have GR4 with X1 and I don't think that GR3 works on my 64bit X1.

Are you using a custom synth menu layout?

If you are, this won't auto-populate, you have to add the dll manually.

Nope...generic right out of the box...I have run the install, with my upgrade code on the back of the disc...now I did receive an email from NI when I installed on my first system that contained a different code, but so far during this install it has only asked for the one code which is supplied in the with the Sonar install discs...so I feel like there is a step missing but can't remember where this second code should be entered...sound familiar to anyone?

Could the second code be the activation key for the Service Center? Been awhile for me, but I am running GTP4, and Sonar 8.5x64, on same laptop. I have Guitar Rig 3, and 4 Pro, and they both work on both programs, GTP4 being 32 bit and Sonar x64. So they can exist in both worlds, I know I had to add the Native Instruments folder to the Plugin manager, because the .dlls were separate from the rest of Sonars. So I believe you have to point Sonar to where Native keeps the .dll.

Dito above, On my system the dll is found in the Programs/Native Instruments  folder it's not in the Sonar folder.
Go into the Plug in manager and use  to find the NI folder. If I remember all I had to do was browse for it and click something to add to list.
