Guitar Rig 4 LE MIDI learn

I can't make GR4 learn MIDI controls when inserted as a plugin (works OK in standalone)
I am using the expression pedal (CC11) plugged into my Axiom 61, trying to control the Real Wah. I have enabled 'configure as synth' but nothing's happening. MIDI input is set to Omni in GR.
Any thoughts?

    you need to have a midi track sending output to gr4. that midi lane needs to have echo set to on, as well as the input set to your axiom 61. those are the first things to check.  when i get to my controller i can take a crack at it.

    It looks to me like you enabled configure as synth. ;)
