Guitar Rig 4 LE; can't import presets

It looks like it should be easy to do, but I cannot find a way to get new presets into Guitar Rig. I've got the 76 presets (.ksd files) that came with GR4 LE, but none of the one's I've downloaded will import when scanned.  I've put them in the same folder where the other presets are, but they won't import.  I've also tried to drag and drop them onto the browser, which is also supposed to work, but no luck.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong and how I can get more presets into Guitar Rig?

Thanks.

They are probably imported, however, if they don't have a tag (associated folder name) you won't see them.  I had the same issue.  Each ksd file is sorted in to an associated tag name.  There'e a help file that comes with Guitar Rig that is "somewhat" useful.

I've read through the documentation and haven't seen that.  Could you explain how you associate a folder name with the presets?

    Thanks for your help.

In GR4 Select the Browser.  In the Browser you'll see two main boxes.  The top box is labeled Preset Attributes and has three columns divided into cells (grid.)  The bottom box is labeled Preset Name and has no columns.  Right click on an empty cell in the first column of the TOP box.  You'll be presented with a dialog box that allows you to create a new "tag."  After you create the new "tag" and left click on it you'll see NO presets in the bottom box.  If you then click on the new "tag" again you'll see a list of ALL the GR4 presets on your system.  Simple drag and drop the preset you want to the new "tag."  You can drag as many presets to the tag as you want.  The tags are simply a way to organize your presets.  You can have a preset show up in multiple tags if you wish.

Thanks!  I will try this as soon as I get the chance (just heading out the door now).

I'm not sure if this applies or not, because I don't have access to GR right now, but I had the problem where there are two different formats for presets.

Pre v4 presets won't load into the GR4 plugin, but WILL load into the standalone GR4. So what I have to do is first load the preset in the stand alone GR4, export it out to the new preset format and then load it into the VST GR4.

    Major pain, but it works.
