Guitar Rig 4 Tape Deck
Contacted Native Instruments tech support, and was told basically "ummmm... I don't know" so maybe someone here can help me. In Guitar Rig 4 they have a tape deck, that you can record too. I am wondering if there is a way to record on that tape deck, then when you play it back, have that record to Sonar. So far I can't seem to get it to do that. The track I arm, gets no sound, but the master fader gets a response, so I think there might be a way, but not sure. Probably won't ever use it that way, but I know me, and some day I may find a use for it and say dang.. I should have asked someone about that.

if you record to it you would be able to bounce that to another track. It will probably not be in sync with Sonar. I played with the record deck a bit once and was able to record a few licks. they will loop within GR4 iirc. play with it and see what you can do.

Well you could route the track, or put a send to a buss routed to an available out and then bring it back in on an available input and record it to another track, just make sure you don't have Input Monitoring on. I think the easiest way though would be to just save what you record to the Tape Deck and then load into another track in Sonar. Dan

Use the audio browser to find the file the tape deck creates then just drag/drop it into a new track. I'm assuming of course that it creates a standard audio file.

I think it was designed as a tool for looping or a quick sketch pad for ideas. Say in stand alone mode. Some people don't have DAW software ( .05% ? ) There's not much point in it if you own Sonar unless your trying to record the loop then play along with it.

Seems it would make more sense to have 2 guitar tracks each with Rig 4 active and record what you want on each track. What could the tape deck do that you couldn't more easily do this way?

Let me bring an old post back to life and go off topic all in one!! I really like the record loop feature tape deck in GR4P-but trying to listen to the just recorded .wav in Win Media Player doesn't work for me. It gives a codec error message?? I thought it was a standard .wav file?? Any wild guesses??
