Guitar Rig 4 content MIA

Hi guys,

Well, it's gremlin time over in sunny Scotland once again!

I registered Guitar Rig 4 LE (part of the X1 upgrade package I took) yesterday and was actually quite impressed - as I have been with X1 since installation (I joined the party at "c" stage).

I opened Sonar today and GR is now not working. The two instances of GR that I was using in fx bins were showing but partially "squared off" with white lines around the name in the fx bin. This has also happened to all the instances of the percussion strip that were running in the project.

I have tracked down the NI folder, GR 4 but have not been able to re-institute the presets. I have tried the "restore factory preset" option without success - it seemed to reload, then didn't allow any of the presets to appear in either menu.

I did use the "by-pass all fx" button last night to record without latency issues (and put them all back on!)

Have I missed the heads up on this one? Is this something you've experienced? Any helpful suggestions, as always, very gratefully received.

Thanks

Dave

According to the NI site I have registered the product successfully.

Just a shot in the dark...try running stand-alone, sometimes you have to in other cases? Good luck!

    Thanks Gray,

I have no idea about how to run GR as a stand alone (never used that process for anything!)

I've tried approaching it via All Programs - no joy.

If you could let me know how best to open it as a stand alone I'd be grateful :-)

    Thanks

It should have put an icon on your desktop(shortcut), black and white with Guitar Rig under it. Thats how its been for me anyway, I have one for GR3, and one for GR4 on the desktop. It has always done this by default, did you do a custom install?

    Hi Gray

I have the GR 3 desktop icon, not a GR 4.

I'm pretty sure that I used the auto install.

Thats odd, it should have put one on there, how did you use it before? Through the plugin, I take it? Not sure, have to wait until someone who knows what they are talking about responds, sorry. I'm to afraid to even install X1 Producer, had the discs for about a week now, I was just going by 8.5.3, which is what I'm running right now, good luck! Guess you could try the Native Instr. Service Center, and see if everything is up to date, and registered?
