Guitar Rig LE not installed properly
I've been having issues so I just did a clean installation of Win 7 and then X2 and a bunch of other 3rd party plugs. Everything is just fine except when I try to open Guitar Rig (LE) in an existing project I get an error stating it's not installed properly. I then tried to insert a new instance of it but I'm not seeing it in audio fx. This is an installation that happens during the X2 install right? I did the default installation I wonder what happened? Thanks very much, Randy

Hi, Randy. You may have to register it again and download/install the updates (you need to access your Native Instruments account for this). You may even have to find the exe and reinstall it as a standalone. Mine came on disc with X1 so I had to install, register and update it completely independently of Sonar. Also be sure to use Run As Admin to launch the exe and the application until you see it is working as a standalone and VST. Good luck.

There is no Guitar Rig of any kind in X2. X2 ships with lite versions TH2. You will need to install Guitar Rig LE from a previous version of SONAR or download it from your NI account.

man... what would I do without you guys?!! Okay, so I need to install it from the X1 exe file right? Can you tell me how I can do that without installing X1 please? After installing I would just open my NI service center to update right? Thanks again my friends, Randy

You can install any plug-in included with any version of SONAR by selecting the advanced install option at the beginning of the install process. Advanced install will give you an option to pick the bits you want to install. You will need to re-register Guitar Rig LE. If you need your serial number, it is at your NI account. Then download updates from NI, either directly from your account or using Service Center.

You might be able to download the exe from your NI account too instead of fiddling with the custom install stuff. Not sure though... and yes the NI service center should register it but I'm not sure if it will auto download the updates. If you don't snag those updates you'll have GR but you won't have any models to use. You should go take a look in there anyway because you probably have some freebies from NI waiting for you just for being a registered user.

I strongly believe if it was only the le version it will not be in your NI account because its a promotion / sonar x1. that would be a no go I believe randall. sorry holmes.

IDK, when I just looked in my NI account I saw the registration for the old Guitar Rig 3 LE that came with SONAR 8 or 8.5? It did not have a download link, maybe there was one in the update area. I upgraded to full Guitar Rig 4 and 5 after that and thing are slightly different for them.

I've already started my happy hour(s) so I'll report back in the morning after I try the advanced install (I've never done it before). Thanks again so much guys!

Yeah, I wasn't certain but figured it might be worth a look anyway. I remember there being a bunch of downloads in my account for it but they were probably just the updates. I'm on GR5 now though. I upgraded rather soon after installing X1.

Silly me, I have indeed done an advanced install (and usually do) I've just never gone back to pick one item from the installation later...worked like a charm. Once again, thanks very much my friends!
