Guitar Rig LE vs. full version - worth it?

Hi

I've been messing around with Guitar Rig LE that came with SPE8. I'm pretty impressed by the 2 amp models, but I've noticed that the feeling on other forums is that the extra models on offer in the full version are signifcantly better. I've got a POD X3 which I use on my laptop when away from home, but I'm interested in the concept of just using the laptop and no extra kit. When you have to carry and look after your own kit, less is more as they say...

Does anyone have opinions on this? I know I could download the full demo, but my laptop is audio only and I simply don't install anything that I don't use or will need to uninstall. Funny enough, it just works, all the time, every time....

Also, how does Guitar Rig Full version stand against the Pod X3?

All replies much appreciated.

If you like the LE version then it seems like the full version at €99 would be a great deal.

I got the full version bundled with Komplete 5 (which I also got at a dsicounted price) so I had no idea what it costs as a single product.

    best,

    That is a good deal...

Remember that besides ten other amp models, you get lots more cabinets, effects, etc. At that price, I think it'd be a no brainer...

i have guitar rig 3, and seriously...It's worth it. If you need "pro" sound in your songs that is, or just rock loose.

    Really good amps, great presets.

Also, before buying it check out Amplitube 2 form IK Multimedia. it's with a control edition as well....Stompio I/O will be my next buy someday....

hey glad you like it...i must admit €99/£60/$100 is pretty darn good value...did the installation/registration go ok? heard some 'interesting' tales about the NI service centre!!

Yes it went fine - once I connected my laptop to the internet. Very very reluctant to do as I have no AV / firewall on this machine, but like you I've heard bad things about their registration process so wanted to play it their way.

Once connected no probs at all, quick and simple and done in seconds.

For £99 (ish) it's an absolute steal. I guess the price drop means V4 is on the horizon, but that's another issue.

I'm running at 1.3ms latency with a MOTU Ultralite and A/B against the Pod X3 there is no latency I can detect. Need to play with it (s*d the day job today ;-) ).

Interested to A/B against the Pod X3 too.

For now though, totally mobile and light - very pleased.

    All the best.

    Hi superbirch

Thanks for the info.Downloaded and installed no problems.Copied all files to CD and made a copy of the
    serial number.

As you say,at this price, how can anyone not get it,and if No4 is imminent, there will
probably be a descent upgrade to that as well.

Anyway,I am one happy guy,I always wanted this prog.

Not that I'm aware of, and I would probably know...
