Guitar Rig in the Synth Rack..? Solved

Hi,

I'm currently working on test project (with 3 instances of Guitar Rig 5 in it) created in X3b and I realized that Guitar Rig 5 shows up in the Synth Rack of the browser.
I don't think this is meant to be this way.
In the plugin properties it is configured as tempo based effect.
To double check, I opened a project in X3 that was created in X2 with GR in it and than saved it in X3. Everything is normal here. GR is only visible in the FX bin.

Does anybody has an idea why this is?

Thnx in advance!

Regards,

I can confirm that GR5 does indeed appear in the Synth Rack, as does Pod Farm. TH2 does not.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest it has something to do with GR5 and Pod Farm having the ability to send midi (or at least Sonar can see the possibility that they can do that) so they have "synth" attributes.
I, of course, could be talking out of my bottom but it is the only thing I can think of that sets them apart from the other FX that don't appear in the Synth Rack.

When you want to keep the parameters of a Wah, pitch, or another preset variable, GR would be a synth.

I can confirm that all Native Instruments fx plugs are showing up this way. With me, I first saw it with my Blue Cat (stereo chorus) then upon further investigation, I have so far seen all NI and Blue Cat plugs being done this way.
The only difference I see from Plugin Manager>Plug-in Properties>Details>the field...

Thanks for your feedback. Grum, hockeyjx !

This makes sense to me. Thank you for enlightening me! I just wonder why it is not like this after saving the ex-X2 project in X3. Must have something to do with the properties settings when loading the plugs,... I guess.

Simpleman,  Thanks for clarifying this! Got to check the Plugin Manager...

    You guys rock!

This is because GR exposes VST MIDI out either intentionally or unintentionally. X3 creates a rack entry for the synth routing to handle this automatically.
We have changed the behavior for the next update so it wont do this by default then.
