Guitar Tracks Pro Official Operating System Support - Updated

Hi all,

Hopefully this will clarify and consolidate a few FAQs regarding OS support for Guitar Tracks Pro.
  • GTP3 and earlier (GTP2, etc) will not have official Windows 7 or Vista support. This is typical for all of our older versions of our products including SONAR Producer.
    • There are a few threads on this forum written by users about getting GTP3 to run on Vista. Keep in mind Cakewalk does not officially support GTP3 on Vista, and these suggestions and tips are from users only.
  • As of April 1, 2010 GTP4 is now Windows 7 compatible. There is an update for Guitar Tracks Pro 4 available for Windows 7 compatibility which you can download here:
  • GTP4 is *NOT* a native 64-bit application, however it will install and run in emulation mode. This also goes for Vista x64 operating systems. We've never supported XP x64. For additional information about 64-bit please read our comprehensive FAQ here; http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/FAQ/x64_FAQ.aspx

Hope this helps,

    Hi all,

    Some updated information regarding specific Windows 7 support.

    We released a patch for Guitar Tracks Pro 4 which fixes some known issues and adds full Windows 7 support in April 2010. You can download it on our site here;

    http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx?ID=2007012941

    Remember - Guitar Tracks Pro 4 is a 32-bit application and not a native 64-bit application. However it will run perfectly on a 64-bit OS in compatibility mode. For more information about 64-bit and running 32-bit applications on 64-bit operating systems, please read this FAQ on our site here;

    Thank you for your continued support!
