Guitar effects?

Hello,

Does anyone know of a good plugin to add some distortion to a guitar midi track? I am using the HyperCanvas DXi but neither this nor the built-in Sonar soft synth provide the desired guitar patch -- both the feedback and overdrive guitar patches give too much distortion. I want to be able to use "clean guitar" and add/customize the level of distortion myself. Is it possible?

Thanks!

Lou

    Hi Lou,

You could try using normal VST effects to add distortion after the soft synth (in the same way as you'd process a normal guitar signal).

I sometimes use Revalver SE that comes with Sonar 4 Studio (and Producer too, I believe). It's pretty good

Here is something I did with it and Wusikstation 2:

There's Cakewalk distortion plug-in call Amp-Sim that comes with the product. It's got some knobs you can play with.
