Guitar fx in real time? PLease help.

Can I use fx like Amplitube, Nomad Amp Legends, etc in real time w/ Sonar. I'm using Sonar 3 w/ vst plug-in, have SBlaster Audigy, and can use the plug ins after recordeing, but would like to use them WHILE recording. If possible, how can I set it up.
Thanks a lot.

If your sound card's latency is low enough, yes, you can use plugins in real time. I'm not sure that you can get the latency low enough while using a Sound Blaster, though. Keep in mind that the FX will not be applied during recording.

Use Input Monitoring on the target tracks and you'll hear the plugins while recording. The track is still recorded dry.

Audio latency should be at least 10ms or less or the delay hearing the sound that you're recording could be distracting.

Works great? lol, that wasn't the answer I was expecting!
Out of interest then, what latency setting are you managing to get with the SoundBlaster.
What CPU and motherboard do you have?

I'd like to monitor effects too whilst tracking, but I thought I didn't have a hope in hell until
I bought a very decent, specific computer for sound recording.
