Guitar rig 5

Have a strange problem with my guitar rig 5.As a stand alone it works fine but when I run it as a vst in sonar platinum I can,t get it to work.It wont pick up the guitar at all the guitar is playing with no effects and I can't see anything coming into guitar rig.Its always worked before its just stopped for some reason other guitar affect ie: TH3 are fine but as I paid for Guitar rig I'd like to get it working.

    whenever i use Guitar Rig, i record my tracks first into Sonar first, then apply Guitar Rig as a plugin effect in either a track or buss

    3.5 Ghz AMD 6-Core/16 gigs RAM, Roland Quad-Capture, Win 10, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Komplete 10, z3ta+, Z3TA+ 2, Rapture, Maschine 2.7 (MKI & Jam), Melodyne 4 Studio, Ozone 4, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2, Schecter Damien Elite, Fender Sonoran w/TronicalTune Plus installed, etc

    You should be able to hear it while you're recording.
    Do you have GR as an effect in the FX Bin, or are you trying to route the input directly into the synth?

    All sorted silly me it was my saffire mixer that was the cause nothing to do with sonar or guitar rig always look for the obvious first.
