HAVE switched my DAW on since August

For lots of reasons.

Holidays, birthdays, decorating etc, bu the mian reason is I've had to dismantle my existing rig while I'm building my new studio desk.

I'll post a full list of photos up when it's finished, but just as a little taster, here's it partially built:

I would love a slidey out keyboard tray. Unfortunately my otherwise awesome desk has a lengthwise support brace situated just a few inches from the front, which leaves no room for one.

I've been planning this things for months.

Some of the construction isn't as precise as it could be, (I'm a guitarist, not a carpenter) but the important bits 9rack widths) are spot on

A slide out trey for the keyboard is probably the most important feature for a desk here. I have friends who have all those controllers and huge keyboards in front of them and I can't imagine myself working w/ sync set-ups.

    I like a clean desk.

You are a carpenter now...  That looks great and I bet you saved a bundle.

Just started applying tung oil to all the surfaces and man, this stuff really brings out the richness of the wood!

I reckon another 2 weeks and I can start installing the rack gear. Wiring maybe another week.

The most gratifying thing is that my new UPS has enough grunt to cope with computer, interface, video & audio monitors during a simulated power cut, leaving ample time for a safe power down
