HD Radio???

My new Subie has, among other things, HD radio. It's supposed to provide a clearer, better signal. Which it might on broadcast music stations...I haven't really tried that out as I listen to either Pandora or NPR almost exclusively. Pandora does sound a bit better but NPR sounds horrible. It's like you're getting a direct unprocessed signal right off the mics...all room noise and sibilance. Anybody know about HD and have you had a similar experience??

I'm hoping I can just tune to a non HD NPR feed and go back to decent audio.

Where you come from is gone...where you thought you were goin to weren't never there...and where you are ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

our campus radio station is offering two HD sub channels, one is blues, which I like, and the other is alternative rock.
The sub carrier means fidelity decreases as the amount of sub HD channels are broadcast. But still listenable .
I had an hd adapter on my in dash receiver that never worked right.

I see table top models by Insignia(best buy brand) going for 50-60 bucks , not the best ratings and reviews.

Maybe it will go the way of stereo AM radio, and quadraphonic Fm broadcasts
