HELP!: Audible 'click' sound on cycle when sound is playing through sonar

Hey guys, I am running amplitube through sonar and when I play an open chord for example, I get a single click on repeat every second or so. This doesn't happen through running amplitube seperately just when running a guitar through sonar. I am using ASIO and I cannot work out what is going wrong, Alex

Try raising your latency a little bit.
Amplitube seems to be a 'heavy' program on the CPU.

Sounds like you have the metronome turned on for playback. Right click on the metronome button to the right of the nowtime window in the transport module to turn it off on a permanent basis or click on the button or press F3 to turn it off temporarily.

hey guys, No its not the metronome ;) I think Mike is on the right lines, I am using a quad capture [roland] and have raised the latency to the 3rd from left, that has sorted it. I just assumed that because I was running an ASIO driver with USB 2.0 I could get away with 2nd from the left. Alex

Uh, what latency does "3rd from left" equate to? My understanding is that the first is 48 samples, the second is 64 samples, which should make the third 128 samples, right?

Others w/ similar setup as yours (apparently) running w/out issue at 64 samples, which actually translates to ~8msec roundtrip latency with all of the apparent buffering that must be going on under the hood... <insert eyeroll here>. Seriously, why call it "64 sample" buffer size if it's clearly an effective buffer size of 128 samples? Why, Roland?

    Anyhoo... http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2541827

Check the "reduce cpu load" setting... make sure you're giving it all the cpu it wants...

64 sounds better than 128, marketing vs science

I don't know why but for some reason I always get better performance from WDM then I do using ASIO.
No matter what interface I've used, including:
    MOTU 8-Pre
    Mackie Onyx 1640
    Digidesigns M-Box
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro

This was also tested on 2 laptops.
    A Dell M-90, XP SP3, Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.66GHz and 2 GB RAM.
    And a HP Windows 7, spec's below.
