I was wondering the same thing, Bob. Which Cakewalk program are you using? Are you using layers? How did you record it?

Seems like you're having layers active and you're copy-pasting only the cymbal layer, as Greg suggested. Closed cymbal?? You mean hi hat? Or muted cymbal? I've never heard of closed cymbals.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

That's what I was thinking, Kalle. When using layers, each succesive recording in the same time frame is recorded on a new clip layered above the old clip. When you select the top layer, that is what is copied/pasted. The bottom layer is a completely different clip and has to be selected, copied and pasted seperately.

Thanks guys it turns out I didn't have track layers on oh the time wasted, but I learned a lot trouble shooting. LOL The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you. Well I'm in line for the 55+ discounts and still bag my head against the wall from time to time. But I still kick out the jams!!

I didn't have track layers on So, you didn't have them on and the problem persists, or you did have them on and now the problem is solved?
