I was wondering the same thing, Bob.
Which Cakewalk program are you using?
    Are you using layers?
    How did you record it?

I'm useing Sonar 8 producer I recorded kick and snare 4 bars first on same track then recorded cymbals over that.  As I explained eariler when I copy and paste another 4 bars the first 4 bars are fine the 2nd four bars have only the last thing I recorded cymbals.  Thanks for replying

Seems like you're having layers active and you're copy-pasting only the cymbal layer, as Greg suggested.

Closed cymbal?? You mean hi hat? Or muted cymbal? I've never heard of closed cymbals.

That's what I was thinking, Kalle.
When using layers, each succesive recording in the same time frame is recorded on a new clip layered above the old clip. When you select the top layer, that is what is copied/pasted. The bottom layer is a completely different clip and has to be selected, copied and pasted seperately.

I didn't have track layers on

So, you didn't have them on and the problem persists, or you did have them on and now the problem is solved?
