**HELP** - Expoting issues, Substantial time frame to export

Is this Normal???.. When I export a track, or a mix it seems to take between 2-4 hours    - It never used to take this long.

I used to mix on my desk top but I've recently purchased a Toshiba Pavilion dv6-6135dxEntertainment PC ( laptop ) { its substantially faster and I'm yet to have any buffering issues whilst playback}

so when it first arrived I got all excited and I loaded sonar 7, x1 plus some external plug ins. like WAVES...

so to combat this issue I've completed removed all external plug-in although some remnants still exist ( in the plug in manager I still see wavereverb + other in the DMO but I have recently excluded them in the manager)

Prior to this I have removed all sonar products, upgraded to windows 8 from 7 - I've followed instruction in cakewalk FAQ how completely removing cakewalk which included the registry etc...

I've reloaded sonar x1 some issue occurred, I've reloaded x2 and still the same issue occurred. I can't keep going on like this.. take 2-4 hour to mix down a track in ridicules - ANY ADVICE

Hardware
HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx Entertainment PC
Processor AMD A8 -3500M APU with Randeon (tm) HD Graphics 1.5GHz
Memory 6 GB
System 64 bit  OP system ( currently on windows 8), x64 based processor

Interface
I'm using the laptops + I have a Mbox 2 + M audio Ultra 8r ( not the best interfaces but they have proven to work correctly with my desk top)

Is it the Laptop??.. shortly not - is there something I should disable - this lap top is a gaming laptop

no, it should not take that long.

check to see what else is running; i.e. antivirus - could cause an issue like this.

Thanks for the advice Beagle, I appreciate the comment..
Last night I jammed with a few muso's and one of the guys mentioned that it might be all those pitch correction and auto transient corrections I do...

I still think its far to long.

That's 2 to 4 hours too long. It usually takes about 10 seconds to 3 minutes depending on the project size and whats in it.

Its not your antivirus. Its either something in your project like Audio Snap and/or V-Vocal and /or your export settings. I bet you have  enabled audio snap enabled or v-vocal and it trying to render everything before it exports. Check for that.

those pitch correction and auto transient corrections

Try freezing tracks that you have made pitch and/or transient adjustments to (I think the general recommendation is to bounce them when you are through comping and archive the original tracks).  These tracks need to be reprocessed - often in real time- one at a time when you export.

I think Cj's correct.  you might try bouncing or freezing individual elements as a way to trouble shoot where the problem is.  I sub mix down to about 14 tracks then spit out OMFs and stereo mixes a lot and all that never takes but 10 minutes on a slow day.

If you're seeing "Processing...." in the status window at the top, make sure any AudioSnap tasks you've done are right and then bounce those track/lanes to Clips. (Right-click over the track/lane and select Bounce to Clip(s). You can't un-do those changes after a Save, but it will slow down your export if you don't bounce.

When you Export a Mix, the best-case is you will immediately see that it's "Mixing Down". If you see "Processing Audio" or something like that, there may be a track/Lane(s) that should be bounced to clips before mixdown to save you some time.

    Hope that helps!
