HELP!! SETTINGS FOR ASIO WITH CREATIVE BLASTER X-FI TITANIUM FATAL1TY PCI EXPRESS1 CARD???

Howdy Sonar 8.5 folks!
Help!!! Please!!!
I have just installed the new sonar 8.5 & am wanting to try out all it's new bells & whistles & stuff.
Unfortunatly, I'm having trouble getting sonar8.5  to recignize my new soundblaster xfi titanium fatal1ty card's ASIO drivers.
I can use the MME-32bit settings, but the reason I bought the card in the first place, was so I could use the (hopefully) ASIO  low latency drivers.  When I try to set the sonar8.5 to the asio settting, the sound card drivers dissappear in the advanced 'drivers' tab.
I have called Cakewalk sonic customer service(they say use the MME32bit setting & to call Creative).
I then called Creative---they said to call The Cakewalk Sonic customer service, & that their new Fatal1ty 'Flagship' card does, in fact use the new ASIO drivers--???
Whaaaa....????
My machine is a HP m9400f with a AMD phenom 9750 quad core processor 2.40 GHz, with 8.00 GB & a 64bit Operating system -- Vista service pack 2(I plan on upgradeing to the Windows 7 premium home edition ASAP).
Is there anyone out there in Sonar 8.5 land who uses a similar set up with sonar & a Creative fatal1ty card that has figured out settings to enable the ASIO drivers???
Please help!  I am running out of small animals to twist the heads off to remain calm!! lol--just kidding.

Thanks for your input,

Sincerely,

You won't want to hear this...but that interface is a gaming card and is not suitable for a professional program like Sonar 8.5.

If you can return it, do so, and buy a proper unit from a company like M-audio, MOTU, Cakewalk/Roland, EMU, etc.

Either that or buy more small animals, because the problem you are having with the Creative unit is not solvable.

    yikes!
i had this x-fi card when i bought my first pc, a dell...

i could never get it to work right, yanked it out, threw in a maudio audiophile 24/96, and voila!!
    instant work.

since then, i've built a new daw, put a maudio audiophile 192 in it, works great.

    do yourself a favor...

Sonar has to be able to see the drivers otherwise nothing is going to happen.

I'd use the wave profiler in Options Audio and try and get it recognised first.

This seems to be a recurring theme these days.
To run with ASIO on a 64 bit OS with a native 64 bit DAW you need to have a NATIVE 64 bit ASIO dll installed by your driver vendor. Having 64 bit drivers for your audio hardware doesn't necessarily imply that you have a native 64 bit ASIO dll registered on your system.

    Do this test:
    - If you load the 32 bit version of SONAR and it works in ASIO mode this means that there is a 32 bit ASIO dll available.
    - If you then load the 64 bit version of SONAR and it doesn't work in ASIO mode (no device available) this means that there is no 64 32 bit ASIO dll registered on your system.

Please pass on this information the next time you talk to Creative customer service. They are probably not testing their driver installation package with a 64 bit host.
