HI sonarforum i have 2 Q that need A's

first off is what is you setup from install sonar x2 is large and needs room due to my SSD limits on space my setup is
sonar on C drive  with all the synths on D drive
i tryed putting  the intire install on D but lag and crashing pushed me to start over
i have x1d my main studio. that is set with sonar on C synth and plugs on D as well and all projects on E
 seems to be ok
but x2 is not playing nice it seems to stop every 30 sec and locks up alot, very unstable for a live recording since there is no chance for a retake. you miss the show period. work load..

im askin what is the best way since there is no set way to install . i am starting a fresh install on a reformatted drive to kill any conflicts or issues, and sonar install asked 5 times where i want things. very easy to screw this up
and i dont see a thread on the best setup.
2nd Q
my drummer think he is neal P with his 10 mic's. we have a good setup we record live at his house with his 16 track Mixer then i bring them into sonar and do all my vocals and guitar. bass is done with drums .
so what are your go to chains  of Fx for your master buss or each drum starting with snare. is any
i stick with EQ and comp but this leads to trouble when i throw ozone5 on after to much comp
drummer is ultra pickie, and iv yet to give him a mix he likes. i tryed to just EQ it and boost it but there thin and not in your face as he said.drummers cant live with them , andcant live with session drummer on my mix.
sorry so long . but the x2 drop outs could this be from issues having things on D drive, or could i put the intire install on D,my goal is to use the setup with lowest lag since i doing all live recording no synth stuff

    1.  Please detail your system specs in your forum profile signature, so that we can see what you are running with.  Look at mine at the bottom of this post, for guidance.

    2.  My C:\Program Files\Cakewalk folder is about 2.38 GB in size.  Perfect Space and Session Drummer live on a different drive.  How much free space is on your SSD?

    3.  We need to know your audio interface, driver version, operating system version, memory, and ASIO driver settings within Sonar and as set in your audio interface UI.

    4.  If your drummer is mixing his drums outside of Sonar and only giving you mixed output as input so Sonar, then he/she is removing any real ability to fix the mix inside of Sonar.

    5.  Your drop outs issue cannot really be addresses until you provide your system specs.

    6.  Congrats on having Neil Pert.
