HOW DO YOU ZOOM and PAN AROUND vertically/horizontally in track view using mouse???

So I've figured out how to zoom using the mouse scroll wheel: holding alt and alt+shift to zoom horizontally and vertically. Credits go to bvideo, thanks a bunch.

But now I have another question: how to you pan around left/right/up/down in the track view quickly using the mouse? I want to avoid having to drag the scrollbars on the bottom and right side if possible.

I tried looking at the 1000+ page reference manual, but couldn't find anything...

I'm not sure about the mouse but CTRL+(left/right or up/down) arrow on your keyboard will do the trick.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

    From the manual:

To zoom using the mouse wheel (Fast Zoom)
    • Hold down the ALT key and roll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in, backward to zoom out.
    • Hold down ALT+SHIFT to intensify mouse wheel zoom effect.
    • Hold down ALT+CTRL to adjust track scale (Track View Clips Pane only)
    To select Fast Zoom options
    1. Click the Track view Options menu and choose Zoom Options.
    2. Select the intensity of the Zoom effect in Zoom Factor by using the spinners or manually
    entering a value.
    3. Select the vertical and horizontal Zoom focus.
    4. Check or uncheck Simultaneous Vertical and Horizontal Zoom.
The default is for Simultaneous Vertical and Horizontal Zoom to be checked. If you uncheck it, Fast Zoom exhibits the following behaviors.
    • ALT+Mouse Wheel zooms vertically
    • ALT+SHIFT+Mouse Wheel zooms faster vertically
    • CTRL+ALT+Mouse Wheel zooms horizontally
    • CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+Mouse Wheel zooms faster vertically
    5. Click OK.
(The fourth bullet item must be a typo)

    You, sir, are the bomb.

Now could you (or anyone else) help me figure out a quick way to pan left/right/up/down? Instead of manually clicking and dragging the scroll wheel on the bottom or right side of the track view. I will look in the reference guide, but if someone already knows... feel free the post. Thanks in advance.

Also X1 supports the tilt wheel mouse. This let one scroll left and right.

Yes, but how do you pan horizontally? I know you can scroll the wheel for vertical...

Try holding down the Ctrl key while using the wheel mouse over the Track Pane.

A tilt wheel mouse can pan horizontally with the wheel.

Yep, either use a tilt wheel or press Ctrl+mouse wheel for horizontal scrolling.
