HOWTO use friendly names !?

Inputed friendly names for the slew of IO in my UFX, but sonar still uses the gibberish names in the track lanes.  Any way to use the friendly names in practice?

i7 4790K @ 4.8/1.325v Gigabyte Z97X-ud3h, 16GB DDR3 2300, RME UFX, Sonar 3Xe

    For stereo pairs, to maintain the entire friendly name displayed in the drop down label use no more than 4 characters. Using more than 4 characters causes SONAR to abbreviate the name because SONAR prepends Left, Right and Stereo to the friendly name.

    Also make sure that you have "Use friendly names to represent audio drivers" checked in Preferences-->Audio-->Drivers.
