HS6 question

After a long time not recording, I am back. So, as before, I will no doubt have lots of questions.
HS6, Line 6 Toneport.
When going into Line 1 or 2 (toneport) with direct acoustic (have tried several guitars), I get a lot of noise. I am not going into the red. It is clean with a condenser mic.
My guess is that it is something obvious. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob

You mention using a condenser mic. Does the Tone Port have phantom power for the condenser to operate properly?
The UX2 has phantom power listed , but some of the others do not.

It does and I am using it. But come to think of it, I may have had the phantom power on with the DI. I can't check that right now but I think that may be it. Does phantom affect instrument line ins?
    Thanks!
