Halloween Scream - new Pugtones Halloween tune

Well, the last Halloween tune we recorded together was in 2009 - so we figured it was time for a new one.

I wrote the music to this and played guitar, programmed the drums and did some of the effects. Warren Willingham wrote the lyrics and did all the vocals except for the agony screams. Bill Davies did the agony screams all the keyboards and just about everything else that was weird. He's one weird guy. ;-D

Anyway, I hope you enjoy HALLOWEEN SCREAM.

Happy Halloween all.

that's some spooky guitar!  nice work by all!

(warren - love your vox, but you have some plosives in places.)

    heheh, i like agony screams.
    LOL
very cool, you set the mood right off the bat.
of course, the guy could be screaming about the outcome of the upcoming presidential race, but who knows.
    heheh

    i like the effects...
that coming and going effect, it's almost like a real slow phaser....
the fuzz electric solo.... sounds like a tele....
that's a good choice with the grungy effect...
you keep the twang, which gives clarity, even tho it's clipping....

    good headphone mix....
it's hard to hear everything going on thru monitors, unless they're cranked (i listen loud and soft)

    -what beagle said about 'plosives'.

cuz you got a strong voice, you have to aggressively work the mic, or use a pop filter.
i've actually caused pops right thru my pop filter, maybe that's what happened.

    micro edit.

Cute and clever, this is.  I would like to play this when the kids come trick or treatin' next week.  There could be a potential industry here, writing songs for all holidays.

Thanks all for taking a listen - had a lot of fun doing this one with Warren and Bill.

Pete, yea, you are more right than wrong. I actually was able to use three fingers on this one.

I realize I'm not the best guitar player - but I try and I really do enjoy playing.

For the past few years I've lost the ability to fully extend the fingers on my left hand - this is due to a condition called duyptren's disease. I've lost the ability to play chords and can no longer use my pinky finger - therefore - I'm limited to three fingers when I play lead guitar.

On November 14th I'm scheduled to have surgery on that hand. I'm hoping that after that surgery I'll once again be able to fully extend the fingers on my left hand (it presently looks a bit like a claw).

Will I be a better guitar player after the surgery? Maybe a little bit. I realize I'll never be a great player - but I do enjoy it.

Take care and thanks for taking a listen.

    He he very fun tune.

Ouch regards the hand, I rupture the tendon in my little finger left hand which means it will not now straighten.

    Thanks for sharing.

Reece (Beag)- I've listened on phones and monitors and can't find the plosions.  Rob commented on them too.  Old ears.  Thanks for listening and commenting.  I'm gonna find those stinkin' things!  :-)

Rob- I used to work the mic pretty good but I'm not as quick as I used to be, I guess.  The good thing is that even though I don't hear the plosives, I know they're there because you and Reece are a couple of guys that I have a lot of respect for.  Thanks for all of your comments, buddy.

Daryl- Muchos thankos.  I'm bilingual, you know!

Lynn- Hey, we could write holiday songs and get Tony Bennet to sing duets with us.  LOL.  Thanks for listening and commenting.

    Grant- Thanks, man!

ouch, Mark, I didn't realize you were having problems like that.  prayers for you for your surgery!

Warren - if you want I can try to listen again and tell you where they are the most noticable, but you'll need to give me a little time - I'm working a lot of overtime right now and don't always get home early enough to take critical notes on everything.

Hey, Reece, if and when you get a chance.  I've always fopund that when you can get the overtime, you take it and that it makes you tired!
:-)  Don't worry about this deal and I appreciate your offer.  Get some rest!

Thanks Reece. I had a preop appointment with the Dr. today - we decided to do a less invasive type of surgery - it won't fix the problems nearly as well as the more invasive type of surgery - but the down-time is only a week or two compared to two or three months.

And thanks again for all who took the time to listen.

    Take care.
