    That's not a bad idea...

What I hate about NI Vouchers ( I now have 2) is you can't use them on upgrades.

Full Products I wouldn't buy at NI, as I can usually get them a lot cheaper elsewhere...even with the $30
    off...so it kinda becomes useless...

It's orange. Not a lot else going for it.

It'll be rich, warm and fantastic for many though.

You know what they say. 'One Man's meat...' Well I find it pretty cool. You can use it just in Filter mode for very clean but filtered sounds. As usual per Native it sounds excellent. If the genre of music demands it then it is very good especially for the free aspect. The beat or rhythm in the sidechain mode is especially cool.

The distortion can take you into some wild sounding territory as well.

I totally downloaded this very cool!!   Also, "they are giving away Guitar Rig 5 Pro," for free when you buy a Komplete Audio 6.  Which is very cool..   The Komplete AUdio 6 is a really nice interface..   And the LE Guitar rig in Sonar is very, "LE."  Its really stripped down.   So having the full version is very tasty.

Downloaded, installed, tested and deleted. Ugh.
I also have downloaded it, but the audio examples on the NI site do not impress me.  It is probably very good for what it is intended, but it only interests me because I got it free.  I wonder how it compares to Fabfilter's Saturn?

They sure didn't aim for "subtle" did they?  I did find "fart" to be a particularly evocative preset.

With a lot of dialing back on the intensity of some of the parameters I did manage to get an effect somewhat similar to an old Electroharmonix comb filter sound.  Nice metallic guitar effect.

All in all, a great effect for the Acid House crowd.  Maybe not so sweet for more classic sounds.

Thanks for the condensed review, Bit. I won't waste any precious HD space on inferior plugins, even if they are free, or almost free. I have too many quality alternatives. Apparently, this plug is going to sell for 49 dollars after the holidays. It'll be another feather in the pile for K9, I suppose.

Downloaded, installed, tested ... OMG, I'm afraid you are too correct on this, Dave.  This thing is probably headed for a deletion.

I will read the manual first though.  Maybe Direct has got something worth using that I'm missing.  However, the presets (at least as many as I could stand to listen to) do not make a good case for leaving this on my machine.

I'm keeping it. Every once in a while something weird is needed in a song.
It makes an OK envelope filter. I put it on Bass guitar and got a synth-bass sound.
If you change the filter from LPF to "Notch" and use the oscillator to modulate it you get a analog phase shifter sound.
Interesting on drums. I got a warble that gave them a synth-drum sound.
It's free and it works so no complaints here.

Free is without complaints if it does something wholly unique and you have nothing else to fit the niche. I'm having a hard time wading through all the things that I already have, and have barely even scratched the surface of what I might do with it all. It's overwhelming, but quite fun.

well if NI want to take their paying customers for ****s , they can expect the backlash... they shouldn't bite the hand that feeds em.  besides there are plenty of other companies who write as good or better than plugins without the crud customer service attached.

I must be the only guy who's gotten really nice CSR from Native-Instruments.

Truth =  At this point there are other companies, writing great software plugins, for the budget producer price range that NI likes to play in.

Truth again =  At this point you can even find great plugins for a lot less $ than NI plugins.

(truth)(truth) = Native-Instrument plugins, time and time again, seem to have more cross daw compatibility than any other company around.

NI stuff is pretty solid.  Its as good as Waves stuff, and often times has less bugs.  As a lot of the other, "flavor of the month," plugin companies seem to fall by the wayside, NI sticks around and puts out CSR, products, fixes, and ideas.

    too many lasers...

I feel as though the money I've given NI has been well spent.
This freebie is like a promotional gift anyway, so I don't understand the anger here.
Worst thing about NI is navigating through their website, it is a pain, but that has nothing to do with Driver.
