Happy St George's Day

- to all Englishmen on the forum.

The Irish celebrate with their Guinness, and we do with them on St Patrick's Day too.

What is our national tipple beer wise? Or what should it be?

I vote for Tetleys Cask Conditioned, or maybe a Spitfire Ale.

Some Cornishmen might forego beer for a cider perhaps?

Whaddya think?

I think we should celebrate the wonderful diversity of English Ale, but I am in Dubai at the moment so it will have to be Fullers London Pride, the only bitter on draft at my local.

As for Cornishmen, many would say they are not English at all.

Nice cup of tea for me please!

(Are we actually allowed to celebrate St George's Day? I seem to remember a right old battle a couple of years ago when we were advised NOT to hang our National Flag, on our own property, with pride)

We have a St Georges Day party here in Rochester, NY - my band plays (the national anthem is part of the set and sounds great with a yank twang from our lead singer) we drink only English beer and there are St George flags flying everywhere. I'm surprised I haven't been lynched yet. The only big difference is that we have to have the party in June as the weather is crap this time of year - we have snow today!
