Hard Rock song. Some input on the mix please?
Hello! I have a song I recorded at home and I would like some opinions on the mix and overall sound. This song was originally composed as a lead guitar instrumental song but friends and others that found the song nice, suggested i'd put some lyrics in it. So here is the link to the song https://soundcloud.com/el.s-othitis/highway-run-hqI'd like some comments on how the mix sounds to you. Thanks in advance for your time

Hi, I would like you to compare your overall mix (eq, mix levels, etc.) to this forumite's song: https://app.box.com/s/pl08svf9jwnhy4l2v7yi If you A/B them, you may find that bat's mix is fuller with more bottom and top and wider stereo image. This might give you some ideas. I figure a listen is worth a thousand words.

Agree with Jimmy (Rimshot). Mix needs some work. It's a great start though. I think I hear some clicks or pops on the right side, occassionally.

No real crits on the mix.(maybe the snare which seems dry??) Really liked the melody and particularly the voice of this track, all really well put together. Im listening on laptop so cant comment on the stereo image of bottom end fullness, but its definietly no harm to A/B against bat's song, he aces these type of tracks. Cian

Can't help too much on the mix, although everything seems clear and present at low and high volumes, which must be a good thing. Just wanted to say I like the songwriting and the arrangement - strangely I got an Ultravox vibe...

Great song. Great singing. I like the arrangement and the playing. The bass line pushes the song forward... I'm digging that. It sounds great on my laptop and sounds real good on head phones too.

Not shabby at all! Vox have a great quality to them. Gtr work is very good! The only opinion I offer is bring everything down a pinch so the drums are more powerful sounding. The drums sound a little covered up here and there. Mainly kick, snare, and toms. Other than that I think your good to go. Very nice job!

Hi, Elias, Cool song with excellent guitar tones, great playing and vocals, and a nice clean modern sounding mix! My only minor suggestion would be to possibly beef up the drums a little bit, but coming from mostly a live playing background, I've always been a fan of "big drums", so that's only a subjective personal opinion. All around excellent performance and production work, great stuff! Best wishes, Bob

Good song! Nice performances all around. Everything seems pretty well balanced L/R, but I think it could use a little more depth.... which could come from the drums.
