Has "Hide/Show Tracks" Been Fixed in Sonar Platinum 2015?

Sorry, I don't mean to be antagonistic, but I've been dogged with this problem since Sonar X1, and would simply like to know if this problem has, or ever will, be fixed. When mixing a tune, I want to hide tracks from the console view so that unnecessary tracks don't waste screen space. When I TRY to hide a track, it either doesn't do anything at all, or if it does, its gets all buggy, and then it won't turn back on if you need it to. I've had this problem with X1 & X2, and never upgraded to X3 because people were still complaining about it on the forum. I messaged the Sales Dept to ask about it (can't e-mail tech because I don't have a license) and they never responded. This feature works great in Pro Tools, and it worked great prior to X1. I shouldn't have to save a separate file with tracks deleted to be able to do this -- it's a waste of time for a simple test mix!

If anyone is listening, I'd also like to bend someone's ear about the loss of the MIDI velocity scaling slider after the switch to X1, but one thing at a time!

Thanks,
RICK

Works for me as well. I use track manager to hide console tracks that I don't want to see.

It's a "membership" thing not a "subscription" thing . . . my advice, if you have the cash, just buy it.
For the Hiding of Tracks in Console view . . .
. . . just wondering if you have the Global Options switch "keep track/console visibility states in sync" on or off ?

Tortoise is quite correct in that Track Manager was as buggy as hell in most previous versions.

I would have to switch between Track & Console views multiple times, trying to get my changes to "stick", and it was nothing to do with the sync setting.

It would appear that this has improved in Splat. I'll give it a full workout later today to (hopefully) confirm.

Splat???  That's good, Bristol! It took me a second to figure out what that meant!

Yes please let me know your findings. If it works OK for you, then I will proceed to finally upgrade again. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had that problem!

By the way, I see you're using some of the T-Racks effects. Have you tried their Fairchild 670 plugin? It is, by far, the BEST compressor plugin I've used for vocals. I was stunned by how good it is.

I would just like to say that I've had this problem, too. It was hinky with and without "sync." The bad stuff seemed random, and after messing with it for maybe a total of an hour (over two versions of Sonar) I just stopped trying. It wasn't that big a deal, so I never got around to enumerating exactly what happened. It did seem to me that sometimes it worked as advertised, but not always. Have not paid any attention to this issue in Platinum yet, so maybe it's fixed.

I haven't been using this at all because it just did not work - especially in conjunction with a control surface ... hiding tracks just screwed everything up located on the right hand side of the 1st hidden channel (ACT control, adjusting AUX sends, etc) ...

I wonder what you'll tell us after your "workout" ... whether it 's worth giving it a try with SPlat (I did try with every major update of the X series and got disappointed so I haven't done it with Splat yet)
