Has anyone ever had their Sonar get blacked out like this?

This happens when I use the RME Babyface (on the road) but didn't on the same file this past weekend on a Antelope Orion Studio (when at home).  Anyone ever seen this happen?

You mean not showing any buses?

Yes, one time sonar showed no tracks! I freaked. I tried to insert one and when I did they all showed up including the newly inserted one. I saw it happen on the buses like in the pick and fixed it the same way by inserting a bus.

Hi.  No, this isn't the same problem.  I have buses and tracks but then they get blacked out and unusable (if look you closely at that screen shot, some of the tracks are starting to get blacked out).  It causes Sonar to crash.

I had similar issues on my laptop, but mainly limited to plugin GUI's.

It turned out to be down to Sonar trying to using my NVIDIA graphics card, rather than the in-built card - or probably what I suspect was something in Windows trying to switch between the two.

Forcing Sonar to only use the in-built Intel graphics adapter solved everything for me.

How does one force Sonar to do that?  I'm not seeing that option anywhere.

It wasn't an option within Sonar.

    What I did was:
    • Within Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core
    • Right click on Cakewalk.exe
    • Select "Run with Graphics Processor"->"Change default graphics processor", then I set it to always use "Integrated graphics"

If this option isn't available on your system, then I guess there's no way of choosing the graphics processor, unless your graphics card vendor has another program to do this.

No, don't have that option.  I'm assuming that in mine, Sonarpro.exe is the same thing (the executable for the program).  For some reason, I seem to recall not having integrated Intel graphics on this motherboard anyway.

I've tracked down the problem further.  It appears to be related to a particular skin of a plugin (TimP skin for Blue 1102 in Acustica Nebula).  I'm hoping to have the opportunity to test further today.
