Hate those NI update problems

Man, I'm getting tired of this NI update sh.t.
Service Center is asking me to download and install again and again. So I understand it is best not to use the Center.
Then again, when I download them separately from the NI website and try to install from my desktop, it says that updating doesn't work because I have to localize the plugins. But they are localized, and their path is clear. But they just won't upgrade.
Why oh why! My oh my! Even the NI forum doesn't help. Maybe one of you exquisite CW forum members?

Don't download to your Desktop...download to "Downloads" and then
run as admin...hopefully that solves the problem

Cheers, Larry, I did but to no avail.
Ik keep getting this when I'm in the updater:

"Installation folder not found! Please install from the original installation medium first. If the product is already installed on your computer, please start the latest version of Service Center, go to the "Overview" tab, click "Show Details" for the application you want to update, and browse to the current installation folder by pressing the "Locate" button. Then run the update installer again."

Then when I do this, there isn't even a "Locate" button, 'cause everything is "located" already.

Man, I'm not very fond of NI at the moment.
Thanks for the sympathetic resonance, Lord Mesh!

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.
Have you gone into the Service Center configuration and set your download folder?
Do you run the installers from that folder?

Like Mesh I don't have problems with the Service Center - the only updates I see repeatedly are a couple for NI Komplete 3 and those I just ignore.

Cheers Steven, will try that indeed. Everything seems to be correctly "located" but you never know ;)
Edith: download folder is on desktop as before, always worked. I did not check the "Delete files after installation was successful" box, but I guess that's alright.
Taking a pause now, maybe my thinking will improve in the meantime.
Sigh ...

I always download from Service Center. I just don't click intall in SC, but install from the folders on the desktop. I had this happen before but it was whe n I was trying to install a copy of a dowloaded product and they wanted the original media. Doing this on an update is a real puzzler. Is it part of Komplete or something outside Komplete?

It's Bass, not Bass.

Yep, all part of Komplete. Mostly those FX plugins. But I think I found a way out. I've got them all working (and updating) fine on another laptop, so I'll be mirroring tomorrow :)
