Have Sonar 8.0 and 8.5 backed up on thumb drive

Have new hard drive after old one crashed
How do I install Sonar on C drive so software will work?  Downloading again from internet doesn't seem to work

    The best was is use the SONAR 8 install disks, then apply the 8.5 upgrade download.

    why can't it just let me install 8.5  right now the software won't let me

    because 8.5 is an upgrade from 8.0. It needs 8.0 installed to upgrade it to 8.5.

    I think I have the Sonar 8 on the flash drive.  I can move it to the C drive and then possibly install 8.5
    what folder/mapping should I put the sonar 8:
    off the c: root, or a subdirectory

    You do not create any folders. Install Sonar 8 to the root. It (the installation process) will create a Cakewalk folder on the root drive and inside will then be sonar 8 and then 8.5.
