Have lost track midi input

I'm a fairly new user to Sonar X2 and the A500 I purchased to interface with it. It's been running well until about an hour ago. Prior to this problem surfacing I had taken my computer (Samsung laptop running Windows 7) and put it to sleep. Sonar was still running at that time. Upon awakening the couputer, I lost my connections with the keyboard. After deleting the existing interface and rebuilding that, I was able to again have control of all control surfaces but have still not been able to regain note key recognition to any tracks I set up. I've tried several synths with the same results. The sliders are recognized by their corresponding slider on the track displays in Sonar, but the tracks do not seem to recognize any note data. There is absolutely no activity on the level meters. Anyone know what may have happened? Is there some "magic" reset that I can apply to get all of my original settings back to where they were prior to this event?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

What does Preferences have listed as midi input/output devices?

    Did you restart Sonar?

    Did you reboot Windows?

    Scook,

Tried all suggestions Cakewalk suggested listed at the bottom of this thread. Unfortunately, I'm still without any MIDI input. I'm starting to feel that a complete uninstall/reinstall may be necessary. Not too pleased with that considering how much registry editing would need to be required.

I believe the registry cleanup involves two keys, here is a re-install road map

    Thanks Scook,

It sounds a little easier than expected. I'll give this a shot in the morning.

Problem solved! I'll start this our by saying that I did try re-installing Sonar this morning without any significant results. Then my son arrived back from college where he is obtaining his masters degree in software engineering. It took him no more that 20 minutes to solve. While I had tried to re-install the driver for the A300 Pro, apparently there is more to it than just performing a software driver uninstall by way of the uninstall command. One also has to perform a similar task through Device Driver. Seems like the time, and money, invested in his education has all been well spent.

Yes, it is nice when you get a little return on the investment. FWIW, most windows uninstall processes leave bits behind and require some manual cleanup afterwards. Registry clean up is often overlooked. Glad to hear you got it working.
