Have to Rebuild DAW. Advice needed...

My DAW is dying and so I'm at the point of having to rebuild from scratch starting with a fresh Windows install.  I'm currently on Win7 64bit running Sonar X3 Producer 64bit, but planning on going to Win8 64bit.  I still use some plugins from prior versions of Sonar (I have upgraded with every version of Sonar).  I especially use the Vintage Channel plugin for vocals (yes I know its 64bit).  Here are the questions I need advice on:
  1. Is there a listing of plugins by version?  I know many have been included in many versions, but some are unique to specific versions.  Could anyone point me to a comparative list that already exists?
  2. Will I need to install each version of Sonar that contains unique plugins?  I'm hoping not.  For example, could I just copy the Vintage Channel .dll file to the plugin directory and be ok?  FYI - I do have a separate hard drive on which all my samples for virtual instruments are stored so that I don't have to reload all of those.
  3. If I do have to reinstall each version of Sonar that contains unique
  4. Any other advice for making this migration/rebuild as smooth, fast and painless as possible.  (Yes - I have an image of my current installation and even tried copying it to a new SSD drive but got the same poor results.
Thanks all.  I feel like I'm missing an arm without my DAW in fine working order.
