Have you ever noticed ? When a " good bye " is in the air. People show their true colors

I have noticed this type of trait of human nature thorough out most of my life ...
When people are hunkered down , they often stay in their own lane and play it close to the vest ...
They may be open to new things and people , but due to having a set routine or responsibilities they may decide to not spend the time or risk the intimacy...
When one of life's  curve balls gets thrown , like what happened here w Cakewalk ,  I have noticed a few people that have come out of their shells and turned into Forum Super Freaks

It seems like they got a free pass to do and say what ever they want ...

Yep!  People naturally resist change and getting out of their comfort zones.

Ironically, this is EXACTLY what they really need to do to grow and learn new things.  Oh well!

So when are you going to join one of the new forums Kenny?

Hi Craig ,

What you bring up is very true

I had a recent lesson w my health ...It is amazing how much you can fit into and enjoy your life when you don't think your not gonna be around for too much longer ...all seems OK there for now ..Yet ,I did have my doubts

Honestly speaking , this forum has been a very large part of my online life . I've used it to share music , learn new things , meet new online friends , get deals , make enemy's , joke around , get serious , hide out when I'm lazy and any other numbers of coping mechanisms I have needed to survive my day to day ...
I haven't figured out what new places I will go to as of yet ...it seems I'm milking the cow until it runs dry .

all the best,

Kenny

I'm with James; if such signs of "growth" are inherently associated with watching your favorite tools get shuttered up, I'll happily forgo the growing part.

At this point, I'm kind of fearful that if I grow any more, I may be likely to lose an arm.

“Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy” is attributed to Benjamin Franklin perhaps in error, but the thought remains a worthy sentiment nonetheless.

I think people are getting a little more tetchy here in general because

a) They're upset that Cakewalk is no more and they're naturally worried about losing their unfinished projects should anything happen to make Sonar stop working, and
b) All of the constant whining and saying the same things over and over about how disgraceful the whole thing is, and starting posts with "Let me start by saying that I have used Cakewalk since the days when it came on punch cards."

I do think you see the real character of people revealed by how they act when they believe no one can do anything to them. Some remain as they always have been helpful. Others begin to show hostility. They think there will be no repercussions.  For the most part they are right. Yet hosts are still here and can still do their jobs.  I know I will do mine. I also know other hosts will do the jobs too. What we will not tolerate and never have is any personal attacks on one another. Barring that we will need to play it by ear.

We still get complaints. We take care of them when we can. I hope those that are still here act as they have in the past. Offering as much help and encouragement as ever.

Best
John

It's funny when some people feel the intense need to try and get their last little dig's in ...
One the other sided of the coin , I have noticed a number of people coming out of the wood work doing everything they can to be helpful  and to leave this place a much better place than how they found it

I'm with James; if such signs of "growth" are inherently associated with watching your favorite tools get shuttered up, I'll happily forgo the growing part.

At this point, I'm kind of fearful that if I grow any more, I may be likely to lose an arm.

I may kid around a lot but  sure , I agree w both You and James , It's one thing to approach a change with both eyes and ears open and willingly choose to go along for the ride ..It's a whole other thing to have something forced on ya with little or no notice ..

I don't think I've changed, but if I have I'll own it.

On the advice of my lawyers ...no comment ......just kidding w you ....
hey great song huh ?

"Just The Way You Are"

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore

I would not leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are

all the best,

Kenny

True colors?

Mine are blue and green.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
