Have you got 13 seconds please?
Hi, I have uploaded a 13-second snippet of a song I wrote, because I have a niggling feeling it sounds familiar: eek - url removed! OK: https soundcloud (dot) com/pl-christou/arlen-test (please punctuate accordingly) And if I have stolen the tune, I would rather know now! So music veterans - please can you tell me if this tune sounds familiar to you? (I have sung it because last time I asked something similar, people were listening to the instrument sound rather than the tune.) thanks a lot guys

You should study up on what constitutes infringement in musical compositions. There is a set of rules on what constitutes copying someone else's work. There are only so many notes in music and they've all been played a million times or more.

Nothing like I have ever heard. In my ears, you would be good to go without issues. But then again, if it became a big hit, who knows whether some nobody comes out and takes a jab at it with their copyrighted song from the 19nn's. I wouldn't worry about it. Just my $.02.

however, 13 seconds is the ideal intro length, so based on that, you're off to a good start.

Thanks, I know what you're saying. There is more to the song, but this was the only part that I thought reminded me of something. That's why I only uploaded the little snippet. However I have been writing songs for 40 years and have ripped of my own toons before now - so it could even be one of mine! thanks
