Have you heard this speed demon tune yet?

My Friend, Andy wrote and recorded a bluegrass tune and asked that I play a mando and fiddle track for it. Well, here she goes!!!...

This is why I'm embarrassed to put mandolin on my tunes.     Very cool!   Cool guitar riffs!

I'm the one who is embarrassed. I had only been playing mando for two weeks.

Who-weeee, hang on to your hats for this one.  You must be kidding --- only playing the mandolin for two weeks?  That much talent in one place is just not fair.  I'm loving that stand-up, slap-belly, double bass.
Excellent pickin' Scotty!!!

Hi Freddy,
Yep, only two weeks but its kind of half fiddle and half guitar so it was fairly easy for me to find the notes on. It's the picking part that takes the most effort for me. Yeah, that stand up bass is cool for sure! Thanks for listening!

I like this Scotty. I wish I had the equipment to make such a great sounding production like you always seem to do.

I had to sell my Mandolin a few years ago, but it really was no lose because I never really played it, I liked the idea of it.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't the Mandolin on it's basic tuning the same as a fiddle? That's what the book said either way.

You sounded great on it whatever the case. When I think of the Mandolin I think of some really old great bluegrass song I heard as a kid. I never really learned nothing on it except a few tunes, I sure wish I would have kept it.

BTW: The fiddle playing was AWESOME as always!! Great tune man!!

Sounds great Scotty , you have many talents ! Last time I was at our local music store I was looking at all the voilins they had hanging on the wall for sale and man they are expensive to buy and the strings cost an arm and a leg to buy too $200.00 for a set of four strings WOW !

Thanks Robby...are you feeling okay these days?

Bobby,
Thanks man! You are correct...the mando and fiddle are tuned the same.
Maybe you can pick up an other one some day and jam away on it.

James,
Thanks! Glad you stopped in for a listen.
Yes, violins and their strings and bows can be quite expensive. I pay $60 for a set of strings, which is steep for 4 tiny strings. A good bow can run from $1,000 to $20,000. One of my violins is worth upward of $180,000. I try not to think of that, I just play it and enjoy it.

Wow thats expensive , if you ever lose a finger you can trade it in on a highend BMW car with leather seats and a great sound system .
I hope you have it insured , locked up with a security Dobby standing by guarding it ! LOL
I practice my new guitar and when I'm done I spend 10 minutes cleaning it up with a dry towel , wax my strings to get the sweat off and treat it like its a $5,000.00 dollar guitar but with you you must treat that baby like it was gold when your done playing .
You must flip out when a string breaks or you hear a crackle sound in the BOW ! LOL

Mr. Larry,
Thank YOU! You always provide such entertaining tunes for our enjoyment!

Chas,
Thank you, kind sir!

Herb,
Thanks for loving it. Seriously, I had been playing for two short weeks and Andy said, hey, how about throwing some mando in there as well as fiddle. I said, "I'm no mandolin player, I'm just starting out." He wouldn't take no for an answer so he got what he got and that was it. Okay, I'll shut up now.

Steve,
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it!

Thanks Rikkie!
It does seem strange to hear bongos and bells in bluegrass music, but I have to admit that it added an element of fun.

Thanks Shad! Glad you love it!
