Having a Little Struggle Inserting a Beat Into a Project

Hello Folks--

The title kind of says it all, but what I'm trying to do is insert one beat of silence into my project. I have inserted measures countless times before, so I figured that with the project in 4/4 I would insert 4 ticks and that would equal a beat. That's not what's happening. There is a little, almost indistinguishable space inserted when 4 ticks is selected.

Any help is always appreciated.

I'm sure it is quite indistinguishable.
The default is 960 ticks per quarter note. Go to Options>Project Options to see this.
That number is a variable, so double check the clock settings.
I just tried it, and inserting 960 ticks gives me a quarter note void.
I assume you realize that this will shift the following clip(s) 1/4 note later in time.

You can also set the onscreen clock to M:B:T (Measures:Beats:Ticks) to get a better idea of how the ticks fit in.

Ah, perfect. Yes, thank you. I had read online that a tick was a beat, but it wasn't Sonar. I'll change the time display and confirm the number of ticks and go from there.

    Have a great weekend!
