great arrangement, Janet, you have a talent for this genre, i could see you as a backing artiste for some singers out in Vegas (or Blackpool here in the UK...) i like the mix balance, occasionally the piano sounds a little crashy, maybe a touch of compression just to even out the dynamics slightly? other than that, the only nitpickedyness i can offer is too much reverb on the drums...but 99% perfect!

love the piano here. the arrangement is fantastic with the flute. I think some additional strings would really set this song in motion.

We're working on a version with some vocals :-) A tribute to the Hollies, sorry for the misrepresented reference earlier to “The Band”. It really is a beautiful song, with a beautiful meaning…

He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother. The meaning is of course that we’re all brothers in Christ, and should do what we can for our fellow man/woman. It really is a beautiful song, and a beautiful message…

And Janet did a beautiful arrangement. I’m adding some vocals to this now, and another is adding the harmonica into and outro;

A new version will be posted soon. We hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed colabrating on it.

Mark--thanks! Vegas, eh? Well, that's a bit of a commute, but we'll see. I just re-read your post about more compression. I think I missed that in this new remix. Well, one thing at a time...

Dazed--additional strings might be nice, but I'm not hearing them now and I've spent enough time on this for the time being. But maybe later.

Jon--you're right--this song may never be finished! I edited almost every track for this remix.

Kevin--thanks for the idea about harmonica. Bruce B. read that and ran with it. This version has his great playing on it--I love what it adds. Thanks, Bruce!

Ron--I hope the violin is loud enough now. I considered lowering and changing it to a cello, but decided to just try to bring it up in the mix and see if that works all right.

This isn't the version with vocals, but that's almost ready. You're gonna love it!

Janet, I pulled the ol' bushman out of the pencil holder on my desk and played along. Had a blast! Thanks for sharing this great song.

Had to take a listen because I like this song a lot, particularly Clay Crosse's version. I thought you did a great job on it. Made me want to break out singing. I think the clarinet, or whatever that instrument is, is still a little harsh. The flute, I think, sounds good.

Hey, thanks Mark. Yes, it's a great song, isn't it? You must be hearing the french horn. I began to think it was so buried in that no one heard it. I've sort of forgotten about it too. I'll see what I can do with it. (right now I have no idea, but we'll see!) Thanks for mentioning it.
